G'nir

G'nir

Nirreth let Upinth know that they were at the Weyrlake, with the
hatchling. Then he added, rather cryptically: }: I'm a bronze dragon,
not a jump platform. :{ His tone was more amused than complaining
however.

Upinth peered out of her weyrledge to gaze down at the Weyrlake. Her
gaze became quizzical. }: Why are you allowing it? :{ There was a
pause as a question was asked by her rider. }: Mine asks if you and
yours are swimming? :{

}: Well, there's that involved too. Mine is mostly watching, :{ Nirreth replied.

Before long, both Upinth and Rorela landed near the lake. Upinth
crooned at the larger bronze, but eyeing the young child, didn't draw
near. The green hadn't been around many hatchlings, except the ones
who would Stand for eggs, so the activity was new to her.

Rorela, clad in a sturdy tunic and trousers, stood on the sand of the
Weyrlake and approached G'nir, slipping her hand discretely into his
own. "What's this?"

"Hello, Rorela. My children are visiting." G'nir nodded towards a
little girl splashing at the shallow water and a boy who was doing
dives from Nirreth's back. G'nir thought it was important to his
children to know at least know each other. they being raised in
different places.

"I see that." Her eyes followed the children. She'd never had a desire
to bear children; she didn't understand them and to her, were mostly
loud and messy. "I knew you had children, but honestly, I never
thought about it." She leaned against him just a little, then peered
up at him. "Are these your only two?"

"The only one's I'm aware of," G'nir replied. "Rinnea and Grilec, come
to meet Rorela," he replied and called for the children. Without
really thinking it, he wrapped his arm around Rorela's shoulders.

She watched them, comfortable in his embrace. She didn't tense too
much when they approached, wanting them to like her, but didn't quite
know how to approach them. So she settled for a smile, a wave, and a
simple greeting. "Hi there!"

"Rinnea, Grilec, I want you to meet Rorela," G'nir handled the introductions.

"Hi," the boy said with obvious disinterest.

"Hello, are you daddy's girlfriend?" Rinnea was more curious.

She glanced at G'nir, then back at the girl. "Yes, I would say I was."
She wasn't bothered by the boy's disinterest, but she didn't know how
G'nir would take it. "I like your daddy very much and I've known him
for a long time."

"Okey," Rinnea said and then added as afterthought: "It's nice to meet
you," and she even curtised.

"It's very nice to meet you too." She offered a hand, but kept her
other with G'nir. "Maybe we can get to know each other, okay?" Rorela
glanced up at G'nir, with an arched brow. She hoped she was saying the
right things, they were after all his children.

G'nir gave her a subtle nod, she was doing just fine.

"Do you have a dragon too?" Rinnea asked, dragons were endlessly
fasinating to her. "Once I'm old enough, I'll move here with daddy and
Impress a dragon."

That was something she was very willing to talk about. "Yes. My
green's name is Upinth. She's right over there, watching." She
gestured to Upinth, who was indeed watching the children with a bit of
interest but didn't make a move to approach. "Would you like to meet
her?"

"She's pretty," Rinnea noted after seeing the dragon pointed out.
"Yes, please," she bounced with excitement.

Rorela looked up at G'nir. "Do you mind? She's your kid and all and
she's visiting you, so maybe I should have asked you first. I've not
really done this before."

"Go ahead and have fun," G'nir said, his smile sudden in it's warmth.

Rorela didn't know how fun it would be and she was loathe to be around
the small child by herself. But how bad could it possibly be? She
seemed pleasant enough and G'nir's smile made her stomach flip over
just a little. "Alright then. I'll introduce you, Rinnea." She let
G'nir's hand go and offered it to the child.

Rinnea took her hand the trusting way children had. G'nir's attention
was drawn to his older child. "Grilec, watch the shallows, you hit
your head to the bottom if you dive there!"

With G'nir's attention elsewhere, Rorela curled her fingers around the
young girl's and led her to Upinth, hoping the experience was pleasant
for the both of them.
