Timassa

It was a small weyr, but with the recent additions from River Bluff,
space in the Weyr was less. At least it appeared that Chaysea gave her
an adequate one. Yumath announced his arrival, lighting lightly upon
the smaller weyrledge to allow D'hol to dismount.

She wasn't sure who was visiting so she set down the bedding and
walked toward the ledge. "Hello?"

"It's D'hol." He stayed by Yumath. "I was checking in with you to make
sure that you were settled in and had gotten a decent weyr."

"Oh welcome," she smiled broadly. The weyr was practically bare for
the most part with only the small bed on one side and a basket of
glows on the other side. "I'm just getting settled so there isn't
much but feel free to come in."

Stepping in, he looked around and then frowned. The weyr had next to
nothing within. "No there isn't." He had expected to see crates or at
least extra furnishings that she may have brought. "I assume you're
going to bring the rest of your belongings soon?"

"Oh yes," she said and sat on the only piece of furniture in the room.
"Sorry there isn't a couch but it was rather late in the day when I
transferred here. I'm comfortable enough until I can go get my
things."

"Let me know if you need assistance with transport. I can arrange it."
He kept a frown on his face as he looked around. "If you don't have
anything you need, let me know. Our stores are stocked; I make sure my
riders are supplied."

"Thank you for that," she said and patted the bed next to her for him
to sit. "It will be alright for tonight. This is bigger than my Weyr
at Far Island so I'm pretty sure all my things will fit just fine.
Chaysea did say she'd get a sofa and table sent up tomorrow. Does it
ever get very cold here? Do I need anything like a brazier?"

He didn't follow her offer to sit and remained standing. His brows
rose. "A brazier? No. It's usually very warm here. You might need a
brazier at most a few weeks during the winter season, but even then
it's just cool instead of cold. Most people don't bother." He
certainly didn't.

"Alright," she nodded she'd just have to play it by ear and make sure
she had an extra fur for the bed if needed. It wasn't as if the little
weyr was very big and she could always find company if she really
wanted an extra body. "Good to know," she twisted her hair up and
hunted through the pocket of her back for some pins before securing it
on top of her head. "Do you know where the bathing pools are? I need a
good soak."

"Yes. I can take you there if you like. There are a few twists and
turns, and new arrivals typically get lost." He inclined his head,
gesturing past him. "If you're wanting to go now."

"Yes please!" She grabbed a change of clothes and started out the
door. She could hear voices and water but couldn't really pinpoint the
direction so she just followed D'hol. While they walked she studied
his body language. He seemed quite tense, yet he was going out of his
way to be kind. She didn't quite know what to make of him.

With his hands clasped behind his back, he walked beside her, boots
clicking on the stone pathway. "What do you think of our Weyr so far?"

"The people are friendly," she smiled remembering her meeting with
Chaysea. "I was so lost and called out for help finding the headwoman
when this little girl ran up and then off to show me the way. Then
she was gone in a flash before I could even thank her. I think.
Chaysea said her name was Keena or something like that."

"I'm glad they have been." One brow rose. "Keena?" He couldn't recall
ever meeting a child of the name. He thought for a moment then some
bit of warmth crossed over his face. "Do you mean Kielya? Dark curly
hair, a bit small?"

"That's it!," she smiled. He had the description down pat. "Boy you
know your weyrbrats," she chuckled.

"I know her very well." He finally flashed a quick smile, his teeth
flashing. "Kielya happens to be my daughter. She is often in the lower
caverns so it's not surprising that you'd encounter her."

"Well, she was very helpful so please make sure she knows I was
grateful." She smiled back. He was quite nice looking when warmth
crossed his features like that. She wondered briefly why he seemed so
severe most of the time. But obviously, he loved his daughter. When
they got to the pools a couple of people were leaving and she found
the place nearly empty. "Thanks for showing me the way D'hol," she
said with a nod. She put her things down on a bench and sat to remove
her shoes. "Would you like to stay and chat?" She nodded toward the
steaming water.

"I will. She is a kind child." He inclined his head."You're welcome."
He peered at the pool, looked at her and for a moment, seriously
considered accepting her invitation. She was very attractive, but if
he was considering her for a ranking position, it would be best to
still those thoughts as promptly as possible. "No, thank you. I can't.
I have other duties to attend to." His lips curled slightly. "Enjoy
your bath and have a good evening, Timassa. I hope you will be happy
here."

"Thanks," she smiled without any rancor or "I'm sure I will be."
Moments later had removed her clothing and slid into the heated water
with a sigh of appreciation. She didn't watch to see him go. It
didn't really matter what his reasons were. She was sure he was a busy
man. So she just leaned her head against the side of the pool and
soaked away the aches of the day.

He did step away, but turned as he heard the cloth hit the stone. What
he saw made his brows raise, a slight smile curling his lips. The
leggings she had worn in his office hadn't been deceptive. They had
only accented what was there. He could definitely appreciate the full
view. He lingered as she slid in the water, then turned away with a
measure of regret.
