Description: Finally, the move
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 3, day 3 of Turn 9
Saibra was up earlier than usual. She had already cleaned out several
drawers, half a wardrobe, and a trunk for whatever things R'enh might
bring. The Weyrwoman had also cleared some shelf space as well, since
she wasn't really sure what he might bring. Saibra had commandeered
the help of some Candidates to sweep out Chioneth's weyrcouch and have
it freshly prepared for Mnoranth's arrival.
}:They're here,:{ Chioneth informed her. The queen had left the ledge
to give the bronze and his rider plenty of space to land and unpack.
He'd already been up for hours of course packing up chests and bags
getting ready to move himself from Dolphin Cove to Dragonsfall. So
when they finally spiraled down toward Chioneth's ledge he was happy
to see how much room they had. **Thank Choneth for her great
courtesy**
}:Mine thanks you for allowing us in your Weyr:{ Mnoranth rumbled to the gold.
Mnoranth wasn't her mate, but Chioneth was fond of the bronze, and her
rider thought about his constantly.
}:Of course. When you are finished I can show you the best places to
sun.:{ she said.
Saibra smiled as the bronze landed and she caught her first real
glimpse of R'enh. Seeing his things strapped to Mnoranth made
everything real. He was here, for real, for keeps.
Manoranth crooned his thanks and promised to join her once he was unloaded.
R'enh slid down with a smile and stepped toward Saibra for a welcoming
kiss. "Hello beautiful," he smiled.
She went to him with a smile, and went up on her tiptoes to exchange a
kiss, "Welcome home."
"Thank you sweetheart," he smiled down into her eyes. "Now you go
inside and get warm. Let me get Mnoranth unloaded so Chioneth can have
her couch back."
"Okay, if you bring things in I'll start unboxing," she held up her
hands, "and I promise, no heavy lifting."
"Good girl," he gave her a wide grin. Pulling the soft bags of
clothing from the rest of the bigger pieces and picked up several of
them and trundled them into the weyr, dropping them at the foot of the
bed. "Where can I put my jewelry station?"
"There's a small room here," she pointed, "that was going to be for
Saidrene but then she Impressed and I never did more with it than
store a few odds and ends. I've cleaned it out for you."
He peered where she pointed then went back to pull the pieces of his
table from the cargo net strapped to Mnoranth's side. He lugged in the
top and then the legs and bag with all the pegs and attachments. Next
came his supplies but he just dumped it all at the side of the room.
He'd take the time to put it all together later. As the last of the
equipment was taken from the nets Mnoranth began to grumble so R'enh
made sure he stripped the straps and nets and hung them up on the pegs
next to Chioneth's. The bronze took off to find her and R'enh took a
deep breath.
"That's it," he said as he brought in the final load.
Saibra had unpacked some of his clothes and began placing them in the
wardrobe. She turned when he came in with the last bit of his things,
"Chioneth is pleased to have Mnoranth join her."
"He's very glad of it," R'enh said as he walked toward her. "You
didn't have to do that," he said taking his shirt out of her hands and
putting it in the drawer himself. Then he turned back and put an arm
around her waist. "I'm very glad to be here too."
"Thank you for doing this, R'enh, for leaving your home to come and
live here with me." Saibra tucked into his side.
"You know what they say," he kissed the top of her head. "Home is
where the heart is."
