"It's good to see you again," Jeyme said as she shook Cyradis's hand
and then settled into a chair in front of the Weyrwoman's desk. "I
hear congratulations are in order, Quinneth says there is a gold egg
on the Sands." The greenrider had not been to Dolphin Cove for a visit
since she'd left after the whole D'hol and Kapera incident. She'd
dropped some riders off at the tropical Weyr when she was working
transport duty, but today was the first time she'd walked through the
Weyr in quite some time. Things were very similar to what she
remembered, and she found herself feeling a little homesick for the
Weyr where she'd Impressed.

"Yes," Cyradis grinned. "It was quite a surprise," she nodded. "I hear
there are some congratulations for you as well. What's her name?"

"Ah, yes," another genuine smile crossed Jeyme's face, quite different
than the last time she had been in Cyradis's office. "Her name is
Ayeme, it's hard to believe she's nearly three. How are K'deren and
the children?"

"Growing like weeds," she smiled. "Kedon is going to Stand for the
next clutch," she confided. "He's very proper about making certain
there is no favoritism." She couldn't help the chuckle that followed.
"Kielya is over the moon that her brother is coming back."

"I am glad, he loves it when Kieyla comes with D'hol to visit." Jeyme
knew Dheymin was going to be excited to be near his father and sister
again, and especially Yumath, Dheymin was in love with his father's
bronze.

"Well if you'd like, we can put them with Kielya's foster mother. I
believe she has room. A couple of her older fosters have gone
apprentice or candidate." She though it might be good for the
children coming to a new foster mother to have someone they already
knew.

"I'll probably just find a new one," Jeyme answered. Even though it
had been a while, she wanted to keep contact with D'hol limited, the
man held grudges for a long time.

"But why Jeyme?" She couldn't find a fault in the idea. The children
loved each other and couldn't wait to spend time together. Or at least
that was what Kielya had expressed. "Are you intending to continue
making it difficult for Deymin's father to see him?" She used a mild
tone but she sat back in her chair a bit. She'd never take sides
between the two of them but she'd hoped there had been enough time
apart to allow them to be civil at the very least. If it wasn't
possible she'd need to know and possibly rethink her other ideas on
how the greenrider would work with them.

Jeyme quirked an eyebrow, before she'd left for Far Island such a
question from her Weyrwoman would have made her nervous. "Continue
making it difficult? I haven't ever made it difficult for D'hol to see
Dheymin. I live a dragon's breath away, he could come any time he had
a free day, the same way he does when he sees Kieyla. I've never kept
Dheymin from D'hol and I have no intention to ever do so. In fact, by
deciding to move back to Dolphin's Cove I've made it easier for him to
see his son." What Jeyme wanted to say was that D'hol should have
thought about the limited time he would have with his son when he
decided to step out of their relationship to sleep with Kapera, but
Jeyme had long since been over rehashing that.

Cyradis half smiled and looked down at her hands. "I'm sorry, I
probably used the wrong terminology there. I'm only mentioning it
because of what Keilya has said about her visits to Far Island. The
foster mother there has been..." she tried to choose her words
carefully. "a bit hostile not only to D'hol but to Keilya at times. I
am sure that won't happen here. She is in Harper classes during the
day and I had hoped they could have time together in the evenings when
they're not with us."

"In any case, I'm happy to approve your transfer back her Jeyme."

The foster mother, hostile? Why was Jeyme only just now hearing about
this? **Leave it to D'hol to be too stubborn to say anything to me
about it.** It was hard to fix a problem she knew nothing about.

"Thank you, Weyrwoman, I appreciate it. Could you tell me about open
positions that you might have throughout the Wings?" Jeyme asked.

"Goodness Jeyme," she smiled. "Call me Cyradis when we're alone. Our
children are brother and sister which makes us family in the Weyr."
She picked up the appropriate hide and pulled it in front of her.
"There are a couple of needs," she said. "Rapids particularly needs a
wingthird. Do you think you're ready for that duty?"

"Well, I had heard that there might be some wingthird opportunities
here, which is one of the reasons I've looked at moving back. All of
the third positions at Far Island are filled and it doesn't look as
though they'll be opening any time soon." Jeyme was ready for a little
more in her life than just wingrider duties, she liked being busy, she
wanted to work.

She nodded. "I'll let K'ran know you wish to see him. He's the
wingleader and F'lin is his second. The majority of the wing is from
Riverbluff so just be aware of that."

Maybe that would be better, Jeyme reasoned, that most of the riders
wouldn't know who she was. "Thank you, I really appreciate this... I
have missed being here."

"And we've missed you," she smiled.
