J'ackt

Saidrene slipped off Ashareth with a smile, her long, black hair
bouncing behind her in its tail, a towel draped over her shoulder. For
the moment she was in a pair of shorts and a loose-necked tank top
that she would shed once she and J'ackt got down to the water.

Her sandals smacked against the soles of her feet as she gave Zith a
pat on the flank in greeting. She walked through the bronzerider's
weyrcouch and into the main cavern of his living area.

"Hello?" She called.

There was no response except for a very light snore. Sprawled on his
bed, in nothing but his pants, J'ackt didn't budge at the sound of her
voice. Normally, he would have woken up at the slightest noise, but
he'd drawn watch the last two nights.

}:Mine. Wake up.:{ Zith peered at Saidrene and looked almost apologetic.

In his sleep, J'ackt flopped a hand and mumbled. "No." He rolled over,
his back towards the bronze. He attempted to bury his head further
into his pillow and when that didn't work, he stuck his head under it.

When Saidrene rounded the corner to find the bronzerider in bed she
gave a little snort, "Figures." Adjusting her towel on her shoulder,
she walked over to him and began poking him in the meaty part of his
bicep. "Wakey wakey, J'ackt, it's day breaky," she said in a sing-song
voice, fighting off a laugh.

He groaned and swatted at her hand before rolling to his other side.
"No." He grabbed at his furs and tugged them over himself. Even as
sleepy as he was and the sound muffled by the pillow, he recognized
the voice. "G'way, 'drene. Sleepy."

"Hey now, you promised me a day at the beach, you can sleep once we're
on the sand." Saidrene turned and then slowly lowered herself so that
she was partially sitting on him. "Come ooonnn," she bounced.

He grunted at the first bounce. His voice was muffled as he kept the
pillow over his face. "I lied." He growled as she bounced again and
grabbed at her, half sitting up. He wrapped his arms around her waist
and pulled her down beside him to hold her tight, then burrowed into
his pillow again. "Sleep."

Saidrene squealed a little as she was pinned, her towel effectively
wadded up between them. "How can you even sleep in here? It's a
million degrees!" There was only so much the cool caverns could do
against the heat outside.

"Shhhhhh....sleep." He let her go long enough to gently pinch her lips
closed. "Quiet time." He was now more awake, but was still inclined
to go back to sleep. Shifting to get comfortable, he pulled her snug,
one hand cupping a breast as he had often done when they slept
together.

"Ah yes, I had almost forgotten that you were a handsy sleeper."
Saidrene said dryly, although she didn't move away from the touch. She
was so familiar with J'ackt that no touch seemed uncomfortable or
awkward. On any other day she probably would have snuggled up and
napped, but she was itching to get on the beach and spend some time in
the sun. "Come on," she pulled her fingers through his belt loops and
gave him a tug. "Let's go."

He kneaded the soft flesh and gave a soft, sleepy snort of humor. "You
like it." He sighed and lifted his head just a little. "So if I get up
and we get to the beach, can I be more handsy?" He slid his hand down
to goose her bottom.

"Deal!" She laughed, although she felt as though it were a win-win
situation for her.

With a low chuckle, he tugged on her earlobe with his teeth, then
finally sat up. He rubbed at his face and eyes, his hair standing up
on end.

"Yay, he lives!" Saidrene rolled out of the bed, fishing her towel out
of the blankets.

"You do watch duty and see how awake you are the next morning." J'ackt
yawned and stretched before swinging his legs over the bed. He ran his
hand over his hair, the short spikes of sleep undaunted by his
actions. He dragged himself over to his wardrobe and pulled out a
shirt.

"I had watch duty the other day, but it was a day shift at the Harper
Hall." Saidrene grinned a little, since her assignment was a rather
easy one. No one liked night watch but everyone had to do it at some
point.

Putting on his shirt, he snorted. "Rub it in, why don't you." He
wasn't allowed to set watch over any Hold or Hall, not that he
particularly wanted to. He rummaged through the rest of his wardrobe
and pulled out a towel.

Saidrene lifted her eyebrows, a gleam entering her eyes, "I will, when
we get on the beach." The promising words were followed by a smile.

He turned to peer at her, interest flaring in his own gaze. Faranth,
it had been a while for him and he was tired of waiting; not only
that, Saidrene was a lover he always had enjoyed and he never felt
pressure from her for more. His smile slowly widened and he appeared
more alert. "Then lets go."
