Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 10, day 16 of Turn 8
A'vel flushed to remember it. He'd been the wherry's end of jokes.
When he'd done it it was because of a dare, a taunt by a boy he'd
thought a friend, who wanted to trick him into something compromising.
"Not really."
"Then let me show you," K'zel said, cupping A'vel's face in his hands
and drawing him in close for a gentle kiss.
A'vel tried to relax into it. He really did. But he held himself stiff
and awkward at first. The wine was working on him though and he found
himself swaying towards K'zel's warmth.
K'zel had expected A'vel's hesitation, but he remained patient in his
attempts to physically persuade the greenrider to relax.
}:I want to feel you feeling nice,:{ Tsogath said to him. She shifted
towards Caprith on the ledge.
A'vel kept his eyes closed and let himself sway into K'zel.
K'zel could feel A'vel giving in just a bit, and he persuaded Caprith
to help him out, not that the blue needed much coaxing to rub necks
with a pretty young green. Sometimes it was easier for a person when
the dragons were involved, K'zel didn't mind either way, as long as it
helped A'vel relax.
Tsogath relaxed against Caprith and crooned at him, feeling pleased by
all the attention.
A'vel found himself growing more into the kiss, and he reached up and
ran his hand through K'zel's hair. By the time the kiss ended he was
breathing heavily and seemed more relaxed. "Oh," he said.
"Not so bad, hm?" K'zel asked, keeping close contact with A'vel so the
moment wouldn't be broken.
"It's not as scary as I thought." Maybe scary was all in his head.
"Let's move to the bed." K'zel suggested.
He didn't want to. he really, _really_ didn't want to - but he had to,
for Tsogath. "Okay," he said. Standing up, A'vel kept close to K'zel,
trusting in following the other man.
Leading the young greenrider to his bed, K'zel sat on the edge of it
and patted the area next to him, so they were sitting just as they had
been on the couch.
A'vel let his head rest against the bluerider for a moment, trying to
remember how good the kiss felt. Tentatively he leaned up to brush his
lips across the other man's, trying to recapture that.
K'zel turned the light kiss into something a little deeper, stroking
one of his experienced hands up the greenrider's thigh.
He shivered but let himself get drawn in to the kiss and the touch.
More goosebumps prickled over his skin and he felt himself stirring to
interest. A'vel moved one hand up to touch the back of K'zel's head
and touch his hair, but his fingers skimmed over the side of his neck
instead.
The touches were a good sign, K'zel thought, moving his hand up over
A'vel's hip, along the ladder of his ribcage, and to the buttons on
the front of his shirt.
Tsogath sent comforting reassurances to him as she lay curling against
Caprith, and so he focused on breathing in and breathing out. He
shivered when K'zel's hand touched his shirt and said quietly, "Yes."
Without breaking contact, K'zel unbuttoned the front of A'vel's shirt
and brushed it aside so that his fingers could skim the other man's
skin.
A'vel felt hot all over even as goosebumps broke out on his skin with
the contact, as comparatively innocent as it was. "Yes," he breathed
again, pressing his lips against K'zel's cheek, then lips.
And things progressed farther, with less reluctance. He'd managed to
be completely shirtless with the other man and have his hands running
all over the other's chest. But it slowed when things reached the
breeches, his hands almost of their own accord sliding to palm over
K'zel's. Abruptly, his shyness came back, and he flinched backwards,
looking at his own hands like they were red-hot and had betrayed him.
"I, uh..." he stammered.
K'zel was dazed by the sudden withdrawal, things had been going well,
"A'vel? What's wrong?" He asked, his voice a little breathy.
"I just, I can't..." A'vel was totally crimson. "It's too much."
"Are you sure?" K'zel knew a 'no' when he heard one, and he wasn't going to
force A'vel into anything, but he also knew A'vel going into a mating
flight being a virgin was a huge mistake.
"It's just, it's a lot right now." His voice was somehow firm despite his
mixed state of emotions, embarrassment and lust. "I know I need to come
back," he added.
K'zel handed A'vel his shirt, "What if Tsogath rises before then?"
"She won't for a bit," A'vel said reflexively. Then he realized he didn't
know how to tell. "I'm sorry. I seem like a wherry." For talking, and
thinking, when the rest of him didn't want to.
"No, you don't." K'zel assured him. "You're welcome back any time."
"Thank you," A'vel said softly as he shrugged into his shirt. "And thank
Caprith as well – he made Tsogath feel better."
"Of course." K'zel walked A'vel to the ledge where Tsogath waited.
"Goodnight, K'zel," A'vel said. Trying to not seem churlish, he leaned and
hugged the other man.
