Y'gel

Lanniya opened her eyes and with one hand, wiped the sheen of sweat
from her brow with a trembling hand. The Flight had been...she had to
struggle to take a breath. It was one of the most intense things she'd
ever experienced. It had also felt absolutely amazing. Her brow
furrowed as she shifted and then winced. Shards, her whole lower half
was sore and felt like her innards been beaten to a pulp. Deciding not
to move her body, she turned her head to see who had won her flight.
She didn't really remember who had been chasing.

The euphoria of a successful flight still surrounded him like a fog
and the satisfaction of a well flown chase flowed in his link to
Aughasyth. **We won,** he probably felt as much surprise as
satisfaction and pride. He still lay curled around the much smaller
frame when he felt movement and opened his eyes. He sucked in a
breath, "Lanniya, are you alright?"

"Y'gel?" Lanniya's eyes widened in surprise and a flush darkened her
cheeks. She'd never even considered that Aughashyth would even
participate in Anaeryth's first flight. She adored Aughashyth and
Y'gel, and had from the very first, but the fact that she would wind
up in this position had never even crossed her mind. It also occurred
to her that both of them were very naked and curled up like two pups
after a good meal. She couldn't help it, her eyes slipped down to
look at him (all of him and sweet Faranth, no wonder she was sore!)
before flying right back to his face. "Uhm...hi?"

Y'gel couldn't help the glitter of laughter in his eyes but he did a
remarkable job of not smiling. Shifting slightly he pulled an edge of
the sheet over his lower half. Then his eyes grew serious. "I'm sorry
Lanniya. Do I need to call a healer?" He hoped to the stars this
wasn't her first time. He hadn't seen any of the other riders much
with her since her return and he didn't want this experience to be a
bad one for her. Especially in this way.

Her flush never faded even as she lay nestled beside him. She looked
down, noted that she was still bare to the waist and it got worse. If
she tugged at the sheet to cover herself, she might disrobe him and
well, she reasoned, it wasn't as though he hadn't already seen what
she had. His question distracted her as she carefully folded an arm
over her chest and she blinked at him. "Why are you sorry? I thought
bronze riders liked winning flights and..." Her brows rose and she
immediately lifted the sheet to peer down at her thighs. "I'm not
bleeding am I?" She squirmed around a bit to look, her head completely
under the sheet for a moment. "I wasn't supposed to bleed again..."
Her voice trailed off, then her head popped back out of the bedding to
peer at him. " I think I'm a little bruised, but that's it. And I'm
sore. Really sore. I've only...um..done this once before."

This time he couldn't help the smile. Even though he felt rather
fatherly toward the girl nestled against him he still felt the tug of
the residual flight lust and a rather large thankfulness he wasn't her
first. "I'm sorry if I hurt you or made you sore. I don't like to do
that type of thing." He hugged her shoulders. "You shouldn't bleed
again but if you're hurt, I'm supposed to call the healers. Do you
remember that from Weyrling class? What else am I supposed to do?"

His smile made her relax and the hug helped even more. This was Y'gel
and if he wasn't embarrassed by being naked beside her, then by
Faranth, she didn't have to be. Besides, he was warm and though she'd
never looked at him as someone she'd want to do this with, it had been
very good. Just more intense than she had realized it would be. She
peered up at him and gave a crooked grin. "You're supposed to be nice
to me and make sure that I've had a good flight."

"Exactly," he said in a low voice. "And did you have a good flight?"
He was still a bit concerned because he was big, she was small and
during a gold flight the riders couldn't completely control of
themselves. We'll that didn't even begin to say it right. They weren't
themselves they were their lifemates. The strong bond between dragon
and rider blurred who they were until the partner with the wings was
driving their feelings and actions. For that brief period of time he
wasn't Y'gel separate from Aughashyth. No, he'd known what it felt
like to spread his wings and fly like he'd never flow before after the
fleet and beautiful golden prize and the fierce victory and joy when
he'd caught her. His flight had been glorious.

"I did have a good flight," she hesitated a moment recalling her
weyrling class. "Thank you," she added like reciting her lessons.

"Thank you," Y'gel responded with a little squeeze and a wink. "Would
you like something to drink? There are usually refreshments." He
looked quickly around the room to see the tray on a nearby table.
Sitting up he turned away from her and slipped on his shorts before
walking across the room.

While he was turned away, Lanniya quickly pulled the sheet up to her
neck but smiled when he turned back around.

Y'gel's smile was still concerned when he brought her the drink and
plate of snacks. No matter what she said, if she was sore she should
see a healer. He knew there was one on duty near the flight rooms for
just this reason. "I'm getting the healer just in case," he said as he
placed the tray next to her and before she could respond. "For my
peace of mind alright?"

She looked up at him with wide eyes ready to hotly deny the need for a
healers attention. then she twisted slightly and feeling the pangs
nodded. "Alright."
