Description: A'dryn and B'jon spend more time together.
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 6, day 13 of Turn 8
Even after all this time, A'dryn was still a little nervous to eat in
the dining cavern with B'jon. Some small part of him expected people
to harass them, or for word to somehow get back to his parents. Which
was absurd, because they'd already disowned him. How could things with
them get any worse?
"...So, T'kala had arm in a sling and L'ris was grounded for two days
for concussion. Waterball is a dangerous game," B'jon was telling
about incident in waterball practise. He was enjoying the time spent
with A'dryn.
"I don't understand how people can enjoy being so violent." A'dryn had
watched a few practices and games. People got so _rough_.
"It's great fun. The violence isn't the intention in the game. It just
happens when people get excited and want to win," B'jon replied.
"Honestly, most of the time I just watch the game. I'm not that good
in water."
"It's not really my sort of thing." Although A'dryn maybe enjoyed
watching shirtless, wet men. A little bit.
"It's not for everyone," B'jon admitted, "since it does get so rough.
I'm mean, running into Uetia is like hitting a cliff wall. So, what
have you been doing?"
A'dryn laughed at the description. "Still getting used to life as a
full dragonrider. I took a message out to Dragonsfall. It's so _cold_
there." Nalarith hadn't seemed to mind it and she'd spent the short
time there chatting with other dragons.
"It is, I've taken messages or passangers there for once or twice. I'm
glad I don't live there," B'jon replied.
"Me too." A'dryn took a bite. His plate was nearly empty. "Do you have
plans after dinner?" His heart skipped a beat, thinking about kissing
B'jon. More and more often when they were alone, he forgot that this
was supposed to be wrong.
"Denenth wanted a bath, other than that, I'm free," B'jon replied.
"It's not that she's dirty. Personally, I think she's just vain. She
wants her hide to gleam with fresh oil."
A'dryn smiled. "Would you like some help?"
"Help is always welcome," B'jon replied and gave him a soft look.
Getting A'dryn to spend some time with him was always promising sign.
A'dryn's cheeks heated at the look. "And afterwards we can... do something."
"Yes, I would love that," B'jon reached across the table to hold his hand.
His face grew even warmer. **This is normal here,** A'dryn told himself.
* * *
While they washed Denenth, A'dryn couldn't help stealing glances at
B'jon. He knew what that body felt like under his hands while they
kissed.
}:You want to mate,:{ Nalarith teased.
**Thoughts are different than actions,** he told her, as he had many
times before.
"Okay, you're done, pretty girl," B'jon declared and slapped his
dragon fondly when they were done washing and oiling her. He wiped the
oil from his hands to a rag and glanced A'dryn. "So, do you wanna go
for a swim or maybe Nalarith wants a treatment too? Since we are in a
swing."
"Would you... like to go to my weyr?" A'dryn's heart pounded. It
didn't mean they _had_ to do anything.
"Sure," B'jon gave him a bright smile. **Careful, don't get too
excited,** he reminded himself. He knew A'dryn wasn't yet comfortable
with being a greenrider.
"Okay." A'dryn's smile was a little nervous. The whole way up to his
weyr, he wondered if he was ready for more than kissing and touching.
Whenever he told B'jon to stop or go easier, he did, so A'dryn trusted
him not to push things.
}:You should mate with him. He makes you happy.:{
**It's not that simple.** A'dryn had lost track of how many times
they'd had this argument.
A'dryn shut the door behind them. "So... um..."
"Yes? So..," B'jon looked around for inspiration to break the ice. "Do
you have any wine? " he asked after a moment. Wine helped nerves,
right?
"Oh, yes." Thankful for the distraction, A'dryn hurried to the small
sideboard, taking out a wine skin and two glasses. But his mind kept
turning over possibilities. With his back turned, he asked, "B'jon, am
I... special to you?"
"Yes, you're very special to me," B'jon replied with soft voice and
gave him large-eyed, adoring look.
A'dryn turned and saw his expression. "You're special to me, too." He
smiled, heart beating fast.
B'jon didn't say a word, he just moved closer, reached to caress his
face and then to kiss his lips tenderly.
Desire coiled in A'dryn's stomach as he leaned into the kiss.
}:This is very nice,:{ Nalarith commented.
Yes, it was. She wanted him to feel good, and A'dryn wanted to feel
good, too. Not just physical pleasure, but a closeness with someone
else. "Can we... go to my bed?" His cheeks burned. "I'm not sure... I
might..." A'dryn took a shaky breath. What he'd been told growing up
warred with what he'd learned at the weyr. "I want to try."
"That's music to my ears," B'jon murmured. "Remember, you can always
call it off," he reminded. B'jon was gentle soul and last thing he
wanted was to hurt him.
A'dryn knew that, but it was still good to hear. "Yes." He kissed
B'jon before twining their fingers and leading the other greenrider to
his sleeping chamber.
