Description: J'an asks U'das to find some riders to buddy with the weyrlings

"Got a moment?" asked J'an of U'das. He took a seat opposite the Torrent Wingleader in the dining cavern.

"Always for a friend. What's up J'an?" U'das answered.

"I have some senior weyrlings that need buddies. Got any 'volunteers' for me?" asked the Weyrlingmaster.

"I'm sure I can find some. What colours do you need?" U'das anwered with a slightly wicked grin.

"Well there's Isella, Junipath's her green. Quiet little thing, so she needs someone who can bring her out of her shell. R'parex, bluerider he needs a buddy too."

"Let's see," U'das paused to ponder his wingriders. "For the greenrider there's both Y'kas and R'sedel, both friendly, social people who go well along with others. For the bluerider, nothing comes to the mind right away, but I'm sure one of older blueriders would do."

"R'sedel?" said J'an curiously, recognising the similarity of the name to the Weyrleader.

"Yes, a new rider, our glorious weyrleader's progeny."

J'an filed that fact away, might be worth remembering later on. "De'kan needs a buddy as well. He was the oldest lad to impress, he and his brown are going to be very competitive some day soon. He'll need a strong character to partner him."

"Hhhm, maybe I should pair him with my wingsecond. If he's so competitive, he just may end up as wingsecond himself."

"One more that needs a buddy. Wonayle. I'd prefer a female rider for her if you can think of one, Now she's a senior she's taking a little too much advantage of the freedoms."

"How about Nytha, she strikes me as sensible girl," U'das suggested.

"I think that might work."

"Well, you probably know her better than I do. She was under your wingleadership in weyrling wing longer than I've been her wingleader."

"Nytha isn't afraid to speak her mind, if she thinks Wonayle is acting up, she'll hear about it soon, and the girl needs that."

"Good. That's settled then," U'das grinned. "I still need to learn to know all the new members of my wing. I know those who's been here for turns, but I have recently graduated ones and transferrs too."

"I'm sure you'll manage it."

"Yes, I do and getting to know the female greenriders is always pleasant task."

"Depends just how you get to 'know' them," teased J'an.

U'das answered with a rather dirty grin of his own. "But they are my wingrider's now, and getting involved with your underling is bad leadership and just creates troubles," he said with serious tone.

"Troubles we don't want."
