Saibra

Trying to make good on the promise she'd given D'hol, Saibra sought out
K'reyel in his office a couple of days after the bronzerider's visit to
Dragonsfall. Even though Saibra knew she could easily have Chioneth restrict
Ma'din's brown dragon from visiting Dolphin Cove, she wanted to be in
solidarity with her Weyrleader on matters. She wanted this partnership to go
better than her previous "relationship" with G'nir.

"Weyrleader," she knocked on the open door frame to K'reyel's office, "do
you have a minute?"

"Sure," the slate on which a diagram was being sketched out was put to one
side. "Want to grab a quick drink at the same time?"

"Oh, a drink sounds great." Saibra smiled.

"Is juice okay?" asked K'reyel. "I had some sent up a few minutes ago."

"Perfect." Saibra said, helping herself to a cup of juice before seating
herself in the chair across from K'reyel's desk. "Wingleader D'hol came to
visit me from Dolphin Cove the other day." She said, launching into her
reason for visiting K'reyel. "He's requesting that I have Chioneth restrict
Ma'din and his brown from visiting Dolphin Cove. Ma'din is D'hol's son, and
apparently he's been going to Dolphin Cove and taking D'hol and Cyradis's
daughter flying without permission."

"I see," K'reyel knew that his brother regarded Cyradis' children as his
own. "I don't know much about Ma'din. What sort of a man is he?"

"Based purely off observation and word-of-mouth, he's arrogant, brash,
stubborn and has problems listening to authority. I know he butted heads
with G'nir. He does his job during Threadfall though." Saibra had only had
dealings with him once herself, and while he'd certainly come off uncouth,
that wasn't extremely uncommon at the Weyr.

"That does sound like someone you'd not want around a young child. If anyone
had tried that with either of my girls... Youngsters aren't always as
sensible as they think they are."

Saibra nodded, "Exactly. So with your permission I'll have Chioneth speak to
Aznith."

"Do it, and if Ma'din talks back, argues or questions it, you can send him
to me."

"Alright, I will. There's one more thing I need to ask you about. While
D'hol was here I mentioned to him the open Wingsecond position. He was
interested in the position, but he wasn't sure how you would feel about it,
or if you already had someone in mind. I told him I would mention it to you
and see what you thought." Saibra really wasn't sure what her new Weyrleader
was planning on doing about his Wingsecond position.

"i hadn't got that far yet, but I'll bear it in mind." K'reyel thought for a
moment. "Perhaps we can have him come over here, but after your Chioneth has
dealt with Ma'din's brown. I don't want to make the situation between father
and son worse than it has to be straight off."

Saibra gave a nod. "I'll deal with Ma'din and let D'hol know that you are
open to the idea of his transfer and that if he wishes to investigate the
matter further he can contact you."

"That sounds fair," K'reyel said. "Let me know what happens with Ma'din as
well."

"I'll let you know how it goes, hopefully there are no fireworks."
