Description: D'hol asks for a favor, perhaps two.
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 3, day 12 of Turn 8

Yumath appeared in the cooler skies over Dragonsfall, his gaze taking
in the familiar Weyr with enjoyment. His rider had some pleasant
memories of the place and he knew that he used to live here long ago.
}: Chioneth, greetings lovely queen. My rider is here to visit if
Yours has time to see him. :{
When Chioneth mentioned Yumath's name Saibra's head snapped up in
surprise. She hadn't seen D'hol since she had left Dolphin Cove.
**Of course I have time. Tell him my door is open.**
}: May I lay beside you, Chioneth? :{ Always eager to rest beside the
younger, lovely queen, Yumath dropped off his rider near Saibra's door
and his attention from what his rider was here for evaporated.
D'hol approached the door and stepped in, clearing his throat.
"Saibra." His lips lifted slightly. "The office suits you."
"Thank you," she smiled up at him. "There's an open Weyrsecond office
here that would suit you, you know."
His brows rose as he stepped further into the office. "I wouldn't be
adverse to that, actually, but I'm sure your new Weyrleader might have
someone else in mind." He took a seat across from her. "It's good to
see you again."
Saibra was rather sure that K'reyel didn't have a candidate for the
position yet, she would have to mention the possibility to him...
"It's good to see you as well. How is the family?" She asked conversationally.
"Jeyme is doing well after Dheymin's birth and my son is healthy and
very active." That brought a bit more of a smile. "And family is
actually one of the reason's I've come to see you." He exhaled through
his nose. "It's a bit of a personal matter, actually. About one of
your riders." His lips thinned. "My...other son."
"You must be talking about Ma'din then. I met him when I first
arrived. There was no mistaking the parentage there." Saibra said.
D'hol snorted. "No, unfortunately there isn't. He's caused a bit of a
problem with Kielya." He straightened. "Apparently, he's been coming
to Dolphin Cove and taking Kielya out of the Weyr without permission
and encouraging her to conceal it. If I were to approach him about the
matter, if he's anything like I think he is, he'd continue out of pure
spite. He has no other reason that I'm aware of to come to Dolphin
Cove and if possible, I'd like to keep him away from my daughter and
my son."
Saibra understood immediately what he wanted from her. "You want me to
restrict his visits to Dolphin Cove?"
He nodded. "Yes. If you are willing." He exhaled. "Of course, I'd owe
you a favor in return."
"I can have Chioneth restrict him, but I will have to discuss it with
K'reyel." It wouldn't do to start a working relationship keeping such
information from her Weyrleader.
"Of course." He nodded again. "I would be grateful if he agreed, of
course. So would Cyradis, I'm sure." He didn't know what Cyradis would
think of his request, as he hadn't discussed what he would ask Saibra,
but at the moment, all he was concerned about was keeping Kielya safe
at Dolphin's Cove.
"Do you think he would do something careless with your children, or
are you more worried about the influence he might have?" Saibra asked
curiously. She knew Ma'din's reputation around the Weyr well enough as
a hot-head who bedded a lot of women, but that was incredibly unusual.
"Both." D'hol replied promptly. "He's already gotten Kielya to lie,
and she was honest child. And he..." His lips twitched, annoyed. "If
he is anything like I was when I was that young, then he's not going
to be as careful as a parent."
Saibra nodded, "I understand. Like I said, I have no problem
restricting his traveling to Dolphin Cove. I'll meet with K'reyel and
get this done for you."
"Thank you, Saibra." He rubbed his chin, thinking of the tension
between he and N'vanik. "And as for the Weyrsecond, let me know what
K'reyel thinks of the matter. It may be something that I would be very
interested in."
The Weyrwoman flashed a smile at him, "I would be more than happy to
do that. We could use you here."
"I've been thinking of making a change anyway." He admitted. "It's
well known that N'vanik and I don't see eye to eye and since Dheymin's
birth, it's only gotten worse."
"It's gotten that bad, has it?" she asked.
"Hmm.." He agreed. If he transferred, he didn't think he'd be missed.
And a Weyrsecond position was certainly a step upwards from his
present position. He didn't think Jeyme would mind the move, but he'd
have to speak with her about it should the position be offered.
"That's unfortunate." She liked both D'hol and N'vanik, they were
night and day of course, so she could see why they didn't get along.
"Well, I'll make it a priority to speak with K'reyel and I'll send
word on what he says."
"Again, thank you. I may end up owing you two favors." His lips curled
in a slight smile.
Saibra returned his smile, she was sure she would think of some way
for D'hol to repay his debt.
