}:Mine would like to talk to yours in our weyr,:{ Nalarith told Denenth.
}: Mine will come shortly,:{ Denenth replied and reached out to talk
to her rider. The request made B'jon curious, so he did not tarry.
Denenth soon deposited him to A'dryn's ledge.
"Hello?"
"Please come in." A'dryn tried to hide his nervousness. "I need to
speak with you." Would B'jon be upset?
"Alright, about what? You're being terribly mysterious," B'jon replied
and sit down.
A'dryn took a seat facing him. He had to get this over with before he
lost his courage. "Well, I um..." He swallowed, his mouth gone dry. "I
had ... relations with someone."
"Meaning what?" puzzled B'jon asked. He felt there was word or two
missing there, not being able to follow A'dryn's thoughts. People had
relations whole the time.
Oh Faranth. A'dryn's face grew even hotter. "I got the necessary
experience for Nalarith's flight." Hopefully that would be a
sufficient explanation.
"Oh, that kind of relations," B'jon did feel bit stupid.
"Congratulations. Was it a good experience?" he asked. He controlled
his curiousity and didn't ask with whom.
Was he really not upset or just hiding it well? "The gentleman was
very kind." A'dryn still felt the need to defend himself. "It
wasn't... it didn't mean anything. It was just part of my training."
"Yes, I got that," B'jon smiled encouragingly. "The Mating Flights are
intense enough without being nervous about..well, getting hurt," he
said.
"I understand why it's important to experience that before our dragons
rise." He wasn't looking forward to Nalarith rising, but A'dryn felt
capable of handling himself now.
"I kind of took care of that even before I was Searched," B'jon
grinned. He was proud of A'dryn, even if he would have loved to be his
first.
A'dryn's eyebrows shot up. "At the Hold?"
"Yes," B'jon replied, "It happens in Holds too." Then he told A'dryn
about Krisjic. "...It was very exciting at first, sneaking around and
trying to find a place where we wouldn't get caught. After a while I
realized that he really wasn't a nice person. He tried to dominate me
and then blackmail. I asked him, which one he thought my father was
going to believe more, his own son or a drifter farmhand who's been
hired to help with harvest? He kind of quit pestering me after than,
but I was still avoiding him as much I could, which was really
tendious."
"Oh." A'dryn didn't know what to say to that. It was a lot to take in.
Finally he said, "I'm sorry he hurt you." That could have happened to
him, if he'd given in to his desires at the Hold. Only he wouldn't
have been brave enough to stick up for himself.
B'jon only shrugged. "As my dad always says: What doesn't kill you,
makes you stronger."
Stronger, yes. Had A'dryn's parents disowning him made him stronger?
Had facing his fear and shame of sex made him stronger? A'dryn
certainly hoped so, though he often didn't feel strong. Now he needed
to draw on what courage he could, though. "I want to explain to you
why I chose someone else. I was so afraid, and I worried that
something would go wrong or it would be unpleasant and it would ruin
our -- our friendship." He didn't look at B'jon while he spoke.
"I understand why you did it," B'jon said. "I admit I did hope I could
be your first one," he smiled gently to A'dryn. "But I don't blame you
for trying it out with someone else first." All he really wanted was
to kiss him. "I value our friendship too. To be completely honest, I
do hope we can be more than friends."
Heat crept up A'dryn's cheeks. "I hope so, too." Could he find the courage?
}:Do it!:{ Nalarith gave him a mental nudge.
A'dryn crossed the seating area and sat beside B'jon. "I like you
quite a lot, B'jon." Before he could think too much, A'dryn kissed
him. It was brief, hardly more than a brush of lips, but it sent
A'dryn's heart racing.
B'jon kissed back and wanted to do it properly, with passion. He had
to remind himself to tread carefully, like around a skittish animal.
**Let A'dryn take the lead.**
A soft little moan escaped A'dryn and he opened his mouth. Oh, this
was much better than kissing D'arvn. The bluerider had been gentle and
skilled, but B'jon warmed him all the way to his toes.
That encouraged B'jon to add little bit of tongue to their kiss.
A'dryn returned the favor, gripping B'jon tight. He was surprised at
how much he liked this. After a long moment he pulled back, head
spinning. "Is it all right if I'm not ready for... everything?"
Certainly his body was reacting, but the next time he was intimate
with someone he wanted it to _mean_ something.
"Sure it is," B'jon reassured him. "Take your time. I'll follow your lead."
The relief was plain on A'dryn's face. "I'm so glad. I would very much
like to... to... Well, I don't suppose 'court' is the right word." Men
didn't court each other, and courting wasn't something weyrfolk did,
either.
"Date? Go out and see where it leads?" B'jon suggested. He hoped it
would lead to bed. But he was patient.
"Yes. That sounds wonderful." Goodness, he couldn't believe he was
considering this. A relationship with a man... but there was no reason
to deny himself. He was a dragonman now and he should live as they
did.
"That would make me happy," B'jon said.
A'dryn took B'jon's hand. "Perhaps we could do something tomorrow."
}:Oh, yes, I like this,:{ Nalarith said. }:He makes you feel warm and
floaty. You should spend more time with Denenth's rider.:{
"I can't wait," B'jon was feeling kind of warm and floaty too.
