Saibra

**Who is that bronze you're laying with?** Saibra asked Chioneth with
a frown as she peered from their ledge and saw her golden queen draped
on a ledge with an unfamiliar bronze dragon.

}:Erdenth, which you would know if you hadn't been so busy with
Mnoranth's rider lately.:{ Chioneth replied saucily to Saibra.

Black eyebrows arched upward, "Ah, G'nir's new Wingsecond from River
Bluff." She had yet to officially meet the man aside from seeing him
with G'nir. Who she had pointedly been ignoring as of late.

**Is K'reyel in his office?** she asked.

}:Yes.:{

Deciding it was time to meet the Weyrleader's Second, Saibra grabbed
her half-full cup of klah from off her desk and strode down the indoor
corridor. Passing by the door that led to the Weyrleader's office,
Saibra knocked on K'reyel's door.

"Come in," called out K'reyel. Hopefully this was the set of records he'd
asked for, detailing the formations used in the area.

Saibra pushed the door open, "I hope I'm not interrupting anything."

"Weyrwoman," K'reyel said recognising the knots. "I wasn't expecting you."

"Well, it didn't seem as though anyone was ever going to properly
introduce us, so I figured I would just drop by for a bit. I didn't
want you to think I was avoiding you or non-sociable." Saibra had
never had problems being sociable.

"I didn't think anyone would avoid me yet. Nobody knows me well enough yet,"
joked K'reyel.

Saibra smiled, a man with a sense of humor seemed to be a rare quality
around Dragonsfall. "What made you decide to leave River Bluff? I
understand they have better weather than us." She asked curiously as
she took a seat across from him.

"I was looking for an opportunity," he said simply. It wasn't a secret that
his father was the Weyrleader there, and that he somehow seemed to have
established, or his dragon had at least, a reasonably stable partnership
with the senior goldrider there. "One where I wouldn't have to trample all
over my father to get it."

That was respectable, Saibra decided, and she imagined it to be a tiny
bit liberating to be away from the Weyr where your parent was
currently in office. At least, that was the way Saidrene seemed to
justify living at Dolphin Cove as opposed to Dragonsfall.

"Do you bring any family with you?" she asked curiously.

"My weyrmate and our son." A smile crossed his face as he thought of them.
"Once I've sorted out the best weyr for all of us."

"I look forward to meeting them then. How old is your son? I have two
children, one of them is a Senior Weyrling at Dolphin Cove, the other
is my son, Kaibren, he's nine."

"Mayel will be four soon. I have two girls as well, Reyela is fifteen, and
wants to take her chances at River Bluff still, and Kerrana who's eight
turns, I think she'll visit, depending on what her mother's schedule."

Saibra liked hearing that K'reyel was a family man, there was just
something trustworthy about a man who had roots. She also geniunely
looked forward to meeting his weyrmate, perhaps someone who she might
have something in common with would be nice. "I hope that the
Headwoman can get your weyr situation figured out soon then so your
family can join you."

"The sooner they are here, the better. I miss them all, and the harpers
here will be lucky to have Mai, she's a great teacher, and a wonderful
mother." A far away look crossed his face as he pictured her and Mayel.
"Mayel has never seen snow, it's about time we fixed that."

"Kaibren had never seen snow either before we came to Dragonsfall. Now
he loves it, far more than I do." Saibra couldn't help but see the
expression on K'reyel's face when he talked about his weyrmate. She
remembered seeing that same expression on K'fel's face.

A knock came at the door, interrupting their conversation as a young
harper apprentice poked his head in the door, "I have the records you
requested."

Saibra stood and finished off her cup of klah, "I will leave you to
your work, but it was nice chatting with you, K'reyel."

"And with you, but it looks like duty calls again."
