"Congratulations Saibra," was delivered by the tiny Weyrwoman of
Dolphin Cove. It was immediately followed by a warm hug. "What a great clutch!"
Saibra was all smiles as she hugged her friend in return, "Thank you!
I think G'nir might have been a little disappointed with the number of
eggs but Chioneth's dragonet are always sturdy and strong."
Cyradis nodded. "and how are you doing here?" It had been awhile since
Saibra had brought her that lovely snowcream. "It looks like things
between you and G'nir have smoothed out."
The Dragonsfall Weyrwoman tipped her head, "Good. Better...." She
trailed off as her eyes flicked over toward the striking figure that
G'nir cut standing some ways from them talking with another
Weyrleader. "We seem to clash in the office but we are quite agreeable
in the bedroom." Saibra flashed a grin at Cyradis.
"He always was _very_ agreeable there," Cyradis grinned. She'd had her
own experiences with G'nir at her old Weyr in the north and while
their friendship had cooled slightly, she had warm memories of the
time he'd won one of her flights. "By the way, how's that little
green? Was she injured badly?"
"Just a pulled muscle Kenirath said. I plan on taking a look at it
myself after the feast." Having training as a dragonhealer was
extremely helpful for a goldrider especially. "How is your little one?
Is he sleeping better now?"
"He is," she smiled. "He is with his foster mother today and I get a
chance for a little bit of a party." She looked across to where her
Weyrleader with talking with some other guests. "N'vanik and Loseth
were kind enough to escort me today."
The Dragonsfall Weyrwoman glanced over at N'vanik- she had enjoyed
having him as her Weyrleader. "Where is K'deren?" She asked.
"Oh, he's with the other children tonight," she smiled. "Sometimes I
have to do Weyrwoman stuff with the Weyrleader and they realize that."
She reached out to hug Saibra. "Congratulations on the great clutch
Saibra. I'm so happy for you." She realized she was repeating herself
but she really did mean it.
"It means a lot to have you here Cyradis, really. I hope I can be as
instrumental to Teseada as you were to me." Saibra said honestly,
returning her friend's hug.
"Of course you will," Cyradis smiled. She couldn't have had a better
'second at Dolphin Cove and had been torn when the offer had come. But
all in all, she knew Saibra would become a fine Senior Weyrwoman in
her own right. "If you ever need anything at all, you just let me
know."
Saibra steered her friend in the direction of the refreshments table,
needing a little snack. She was always too keyed up to eat properly on
Hatching days, "So how is the electricity project going?"
"It's actually progressing quite nicely. They're carving channels for
the main wiring, and building more power sources. Though I didn't
approve them working around the clock. We have to sleep after all."
Cyradis grinned and picked up a plate to pick and choose what she
wanted to put on it. "I heard you had a power outage here."
"Ugh." Saibra rolled her eyes, clearly giving her opinion of how the
time during the black-out had been. "It was awful. I woke up one
morning to G'nir pounding on my door... Okay, that wouldn't have been
so bad," she grinned a little, her eyes once again flicking across the
room to their handsome Weyrleader, "but it was to tell me about the
power blackout. Riders spent most of their time in the bathing pools,
or Winter Lake to keep warm. When I wasn't running around with the
Headwoman I camped out with Chioneth on the Hatching Sands to stay
warm."
Cyradis chuckled. It was good to know Saibra was at least enjoying
G'nir's company. "I'm fairly certain Panitath saw quite a few of them
on our beaches getting warmed up."
"And how I envied those lucky people who could go to warmer places.
Now that Chioneth is free of the Hatching Sands I can't wait to dig
out my skimpiest bikini and sprawl out on the warmest beach I can
find." Saibra was slowly getting useto the snowy Dragonsfall, but it
couldn't kill within her the desire for warm sand and glittering
oceans.
"Well," Cyradis grinned. "I'm certain we could find lots of people
who'd welcome you for a visit."
