K'lvin was rather amused; this was the fourth green in a row that Xmernth had caught. At least this rider was female. Too bad she was leaving. K'livn didn't mind the occasinal flight with a male greenrider but too many was too many. The bronzerider smiled and stretched before scanning the room for his discarded clothing. It took a few minutes to find everything, it had been an enthusiastic flight. Dressing he left the mating cots and strolled toward the dinning caverns. Good flights had a way of making one hungry he thought. Glancing toward the cliffs he saw Xmernth with his latest mate, a pretty, mature green, both were dozing in the sun. In the back of his mind K'lvin could feel his lifemate's contentment and pride. He'd flown well and had this beautiful green to show for it. The bronzerider smiled. He knew his friend would continue with his adoration of his green mate for a day or two, then move on. K'lvin chuckled to himself. As was said, like dragon, like rider.

After greeting friends he grabbed some early dinner and chose a table by himself. Not only did flights make him hungry, when the flight lust had passed, they also made him think, some would say too much. Twenty-nine turns had passed since he meet Xmernth on the sands. His parents had been proud. His father in particular, despite having lost both of them turns early, much of what he did and the decisions he made where intended to please, if not his parents then their memories. Even Cylena had understood that. Despite their differences K'lvin still cared for the healer. He was even willing to admit that he missed her, but sometime people changed. It wasn't anything to cry over. Things with her had been good while they lasted. They'd both been devoted to their craft and she had been fond of Xmernth, as much as a non rider could be anyway. Sweet woman, she'd decided that she wanted more from her craft, things she hadn't been able to find at Dragonsfall and that way fine by him. Now he could chase all the greenriders he wanted with out having to worry that Cylena might misunderstand his intentions.

There was also the new Weyrwoman arriving shortly. Losing Jaela was bad. She'd been a good Weyrwoman. She and D'wrayt had worked well together. Farneth knew, Xmernth has enjoyed chasing her Calyth every time the golden beauty had risen. He'd never flown her but the chase had been enough for K'lvin. He had no desire to become Weyrleader. For any rank really, he was happy to leave the paperwork and worry to some other bronzerider. Any overzealous brownriders who wanted the rank and worry where welcome to it as well.

K'lvin's thoughts turned to flights in general. He'd been in plenty. Xmernth liked to chase and catching was even better. Greens where quick in the air and not just in mating flights. K'lvin, unlike some riders he could think of, did not have a problem with male greenriders. Greens where an assets to a wing. What they did on their own time was their choice. Nearly every time he'd woken from a winning flight, next to another man, he'd found the other rider to be polite, if disappointed that he'd no interest in remaining.
