Shifting positions in her chair, Rhosyn was finding it increasingly
difficult to be comfortable. She was rather large, the baby should be coming
soon, and it was hot all the time. Despite being unable to complete her
duties any longer since she tired easily, she had heard the news. Not in
attendance at the Dragonsfall Hatching due to her obvious condition, she
nonetheless had found out that Gelira had gone there and the girl had
Impressed green, despite her pregnancy. **Good, let them deal with it.
River Bluff already has one pregnant green weyrling.** The whole thing
had put a bad taste in the Weyrwoman's mouth.

Here she had been counting on Gelira to help her through this difficult
time. The girl had promised. And then, when she needed someone to help her
with Orlaith, the girl had up and left her. Sure, there had been a chance
for a gold egg, but still. It was a gold egg at another Weyr! Feeling her
anger stir all over again, she tried to calm herself for fear of disturbing
the baby. **Not so much as a goodbye to me. She knew she was sneaking out.
She knew she was shirking her duty. Good riddance!**

"How the shells am I supposed to bathe and oil a full grown rather large
queen dragon as well as bathe myself when I can hardly walk for longer than
half a candlemark without my feet swelling? Tell me that." She hoped the day
came when Gelira was big as a Hold and didn't have any help. Maybe
then she would realize what she had done. **Guess she wasn't goldrider
material anyway.** Snorting, Rhosyn looked up at the ceiling as she put her
head back on the pillow. She could ask some of the candidates, but it
wouldn't be anyone that she trusted. She didn't really know any of them. It
wasn't just that-Gelira had been supposed to help _her_. Frowning, she tried
to forget how hard it was going to be to manage on her own. **I can do hard.
I've done it before.**

Groaning as she realized she needed to turn a bit to the left since her hip
was sore, she made a few adjustments. **Little thing, come out please.**
Gelira wasn't alone in her perfidy, though. Oh no, Y'gel had been the one to
take her. He hadn't said a thing either. She supposed he thought she
wouldn't notice that one day Gelira was just gone and nowhere to be found.
**Of course he chose his daughter over me** She snorted. Knowing that
he was going to raise her own daughter, Rhosyn began to have second
thoughts. Her head began to swim with all of it. And worst of all, she felt
the world closing in on her as she became more confined.

Despite Solieira's claim that she had plenty of people to help her, she was
wrong. **I'm alone in this just as I am everything else. You and me** She
reached out to her dragon who gave a mental nudge back to her. Rhosyn's
frustration, disappointment, and loneliness was palpable. Bringing her
hand to rest on her swollen belly, she closed her eyes and thought about
how life was before she decided to do this pregnancy. So much easier and
less painful.

If she could have moved, she would have been pacing. She might even have
tried practicing with her flamethrower. Unfortunately, though, Rhosyn was
stuck there. Leaning back on the pillows, she hoped for sleep. That was
about as good as it would get.
