Unable to do much except hidework for the most part, Rhosyn was glad to
share everything else with Lenala.
Breathing heavily, she looked like a human version of an egg-heavy queen.
Fortunately, their queen was no longer heavy. There were eggs! And a good
amount of eggs, from Orlaith's report. **Good for the Weyr definitely.**
Once again Lenala had done her duty well. For that Rhosyn was thankful and
she wanted her to know it.
Making it to the Grounds, she stepped slowly into the Stands. Stairs were
hard so she stayed on the bottom row, looking for her Second. Orlaith had
let them know she was coming, albeit slowly.
Lenala had visited the privy when Vilarth informed of the visitor. She
hurried back, before Vilarth could get nervous. So she was almost as out of
breath as the Weyrwoman when she reached her. "Rhosyn, come to check the
eggs?"
"Mmmhmm," she answered agreeably. "Tell her very well done." Rhosyn's smile
was genuine and she was glad that there was one less thing to worry about.
"And you too."
"Thanks. Trust me, she already knows she's done well," Lenala replied with
fond smile towards Vilarth. The queen seemed to watch the entrance, in case
someone came in to steal her eggs.
"Besides....that...I did have one other reason for coming." It was time to
let her know what was happening just in case-in light of the girl
approaching Tsaera.
"What is it?" Lenala asked.
"So candidate Eirlira...who seems to have problems with behavior and the
like asked Tsaera if she could be her assistant. I let Tsaera know about
the issues we've had with her. So Solieira is going to assign her to do
extra duty
in the kitchens." Rhosyn was hoping maybe Eirlira would get better with
time when she finally realized her attitude would get her nowhere. If not,
the young woman would probably not last long anyway.
"Oh, that girl," Lenala said. The name had come up in talks between them
often enough.
"Let me know how it goes. Hopefully she won't give Solieira trouble."
Rhosyn was wondering how Eirlira would react to Lenala. The blond goldrider
was far different from her, though she knew she could be authoritarian when
she needed to be.
Lenala just nodded. "Do we have enough candidates?" As a goldrider with a
clutch, that was her major concern, not some spoiled hold brat.
"We have a goodly number but the Searchriders are out daily, pulling in
what they can for a good pool. We may have less girls though. The gold egg
at Dragonsfall..." She sighed. It was what it was. Apparently they could
stand to wait for a gold egg of their own. "Still, Onnyth's clutch will
Hatch before so we may get them back."
Lenala nodded again. "We could use Gold egg too, but with Tabanirth now
here, I'm not sure if the dragons feel that way." Nobody was sure why and
when the gold eggs came. Did the mother dragon have some influence over it
or was it just random?
"We definitely could. Tabanirth can't breed so hopefully that won't effect
anything. Anyway, she might not be here long depending on how Tsaera feels.
I only have a few sevendays or so maybe." She sincerely hoped that was the
case. If she was any larger, she'd be rolling across the Sands like an egg
herself.
"Well, I'll be happy when this ordeal is over," Lenala said, gesturing
towards both Vilarth's eggs and Rhosyn's belly.
"You and I both." She tried not to let the worry creep into her voice, but
it was hard not to think it.
