Description: Illiana meets K'mai and learns of a large difference between Weyr and Hall

K'mai

The red haired candidate looked around the bathing room, it was empty. With a sigh of relief she walked over to the far wall and took off her clothes, setting them on a small bench before she slipped into the warm waters. Illiana set her head up against the edge of the bath and closed her eyes, allowing the warm waters to soak away all her aches and pains.

Seeing that there was only one other person in the bathing room, K'mai walked over to join them. The girl looked so relaxed he decided not to say anything. Instead, he set his towel down and began to undress.

Illiana let herself slowly slide into the water so that she could wet her hair, she kept her eyes shut as the water went all around her. She stayed under the water for as long as she could hold her breath, when she surfaced she ran her hands over her hair to get the excess water out before applying the sweetsand.

"Mind if I join you?" K'mai asked as he dropped the last of his clothes on the pile.

The Candidate almost leapt out of her skin, her eyes flew open and she spoted the dragonrider stand on the otherside of the bathing pool, and he was completly naked. Her mouth dropped, and her face was bright red before she looked down at herself in the water and wrapped her arms around her own naked body. "Excuse me?!" She asked in shock.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you," he said. The girl's reaction seemed to be more than surprise, so he asked, "Are you new to the Weyr?"

"Ye . . . yes." She said as she fumbled around behind her for a towel and upon finding it she pulled it into the water to help cover herself better.

"Oh, darling, you're getting your towel soaked!" K'mai grabbed his own towel and wrapped it around his waist. "There. Now that I'm no longer shocking you," he chuckled, "I'll go get you another towel." The bluerider returned shortly and laid a fresh towel near the girl.

"Th . . . thank-you." Illiana said, still clutching her soaked towel to her naked body, what was this guy doing?!

"I'm K'mai by the way. Rider of blue Sebeth," he said as he walked to the nearest bath. Taking off the towel and slipping quickly into the water, he turned to face her. "So what's your name?"

She looked up from the water in front of her once she knew that the bluerider was in the pool. "Illiana, I'm originally a Beastcrafter from the North, and now a candidate."

"And not used to mixed baths, I take it?" K'mai smiled, his elbows leaning on the edge of the bath.

"No, can't say anything like this is ever done at the Hall, much more . . . private." She admitted, blushing an even deeper shade of red. "I don't understand what the fuss is about. It's just our bodies," he shrugged.

"Naked bodies, that is something reserved for lovers." Illiana said softly, trying to rinse her hair without exposing herself.

The bluerider shook his head. "I don't know how you can enjoy life with all those restrictions. It seems so silly to me."

"I suppose we all think differently depending on how we were raised." Illiana said with a shrug as she double checked to make sure all of the sweet sand was out of her hair before climbing out of the water (while being very careful to not expose herself to K'mai.

"I hope you can get used to it. There are lots of great things about Weyrlife. Lots of fun things to do, too," he winked.

Illiana could feel her face going an even darker shade. "Well it was . . . a pleasure to meet you K'mai." The candidate said as she quickly wrapped herself in the dry towel, dropping the wet one to the floor. Once she was covered she picked up the wet one and lay it across a rack to dry.

"It was a pleasure to meet you as well, Illiana," he said with a smile. "I look forward to . . . seeing you around." K'mai's smile widened.

"Ummmm, errrrr, yes." Was all Illiana could say as she quickly left the bathing rooms, feeling more embarressed then she had in her entire life.
