Description: Onnyth rises....
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 4, day 6 of Turn 7
N'call had come to the dining cavern a little late and the selection
of food left wasn't really his favorites. But not to fear, one of the
kitchen drudges brought him a plate of roast herdbeast with gravy and
warm rolls. Of course she included finger roots and mashed tubers and
he thanked her with a warm kiss on the cheek before turning to survey
the room.
His eyes lit as they fell on Teseada. Her plate wasn't empty but the
pair of greenriders who'd been sitting with her were rising to leave.
So, he threaded his way through the tables and smiled down at her.
"Want some company?"
"Sure," she said, her face brightening. "Just so long as that's all you're
after. That brownrider over there wanted a different sort of company, if you
know what I mean."
"Awww Tes," he slumped exaggeratedly. "Don't take all the fun out of
it so soon. I just got here." With that he grinned and waggled his
eyebrows.
She laughed, and moved her plates over slightly to make room for his things.
"Maybe for you I'll make an exception."
Suddenly the spike of pure lust hit him like a bolt and this wasn't
just any flight this was gold.
"Tes?" He looked at her stricken then dropped his fork and knife in
the tray and scooted away from her.
"Onnyth," she gasped. Forcing herself to focus for a moment she looked to
N'call. "Get J'nev out of here, she's going to rise."
"Right," he said and ran out the door and toward the Wingroom where
Haloth told him Ankioth's currently was. But once that was done he
sped toward the flight room to gather around Teseada.
Riders were gathering even as Teseada concentrated on making sure Onnyth
understood that as much as she wanted to devour the whole herdbeast that she
had just slaughtered, it was the blood she needed. Just the blood, to go for
a long high flight. "Blood only," she chanted, repeating herself over and
over as Onnyth took down and drained a second herdbeast.
He was breathless when he arrived but there she was glowing bright and
then they were all in the sky.
~*~
Surprise, maybe that was the right word but the bright sky and bright
gold were burned into his eyes like hot knobs. But when he opened them
and blinked past it he saw her hair tossed across the pillow next to
him he couldn't help the sharp intake of breath. She was every bit as
lovely as the gold beauty Haloth lay entwined with. For a moment he
felt possessive and moved closer to drape an arm across her waist and
take a long breath of her fragrant hair.
"Mmm," muttered Teseada as reality slowly came to her. Onnyth, she had risen
and led the dragons of the weyr a merry dance in the skies, He last clear
memory had been seeing the Sea of Azov through Onnyth's eyes as she had
allowed an audacious bronze to close in and catch her.
Shifting slightly, she moved to see who it was. "N'call?"
"Hello," he said with a tilted smile. "I suppose our lunch is cold by now."
"Yes, I think it will be," she said with a grin. "But dinner might be more
appropriate, it feels late."
"It feels wonderful," he smiled back at her and stroked her hair. "The
flight was very high," he'd felt the strain affecting his own heart
and limbs when the glory that was Onnyth had finally turned to choose.
"Haloth was almost done."
"I think he really impressed her enough to catch her eye," she snuggled
closer for a moment, wanting to feel as close to him as Onnyth was to Haloth
now. "And a good long flight is what the Weyr needs."
Long arms wrapped around her possessively unconsciously reflecting
Haloth's embrace of Onnyth. "And what does Teseada need," his eyes
glinted into hers.
"To relax, in a long hot bath, with someone to scrub my back," she teased.
"Happy to oblige," he smiled and kissed her forehead. "Shall we
adjourn to your weyr?"
"That," she said, "might be a very good idea."
"Excellent," he said softly and took possession of her lips for a moment.
