Rhosyn stood there in her office. She'd already sent someone to let Eirlira
know she wanted to see her in a candlemark. Before the girl got there, she
was thinking about everything the woman had done and decidedly didn't like
it.
Dressed in her best, Eirlira strode confidently to the Weyrwoman's door. To
be called to Rhosyn's office had to be important. Perhaps she was looking
for a new assistant? That would be just perfect and a perfect position for
her. She rapped on the door, tossed her hair back and took a deep breath
before lifting her lips in a smile.
With everything ready, Rhosyn sat down into her seat and mentally sighed.
For this to be necessary made her inwardly seethe. "Come in." Outwardly, she
seemed calm, if a bit serious. Her own body reflected the changes she was
going through, though she wasn't very heavy yet.
Entering, Eirlira strode in and curtseyed deeply, a confident smile on
her face. "You wanted to see me?"
"I did. Please have a seat." She didn't offer a drink or anything of that sort, signaling
the meeting would be a short one. Rhosyn waited until she was settled before
she launched into what she had in mind. "As you know, as a candidate you are officially
under the care of the Headwoman and the Weyrlingmaster. However, I am responsible for your
Standing. Recently I've had concerns brought to me about your behavior."
Feline eyes focused on Eirlira, judging her reaction. **Hit her with it a little at the time and
make her think this is about something else. She won't know I suspect her.**
Perhaps, Rhosyn was even setting a trap for her. If she retaliated, that'd be something else
she could put around her neck. "Apparently you weren't courteous to both crafters and Weyr
residents alike upon a recent trip to the Infirmary." Settling back into her seat, it was clear this was
the girl's moment to speak for herself.
Eirlira took a seat and as Rhosyn began to speak, went very still.
**Shaffit!** If anything, Eirlira was sharp and cunning, and she knew that
this was not a woman she wanted angered at her. Mind working quickly, she
ducked her head, her hands placed in her lap as she inwardly fumed.
**Carefully...** "Then you have my most sincere apologies." She kept her
voice soft and contrite. "I was wrong and I will make my apologies to anyone
I have offended. I am unused to Weyrlife and I should not have acted so
rudely."
"Master Reeva is expecting you to assist her in addition to your regular
duties. You will do as she has asked in order to improve Weyr/craft
relations. Also, maybe it will help you to improve upon your personal
skills. Keep in mind that if any other reports are made that you cannot
comport yourself with the dignity of a possible dragonrider, you may receive
further punishment or may not be allowed to Stand." Under Reeva's watchful
eye, she probably wouldn't be able to do any damage. Bahji was out of the
Infirmary and Lokkun knew to watch for her.
Eirlira hid a grimace of displeasure. She hated the infirmary, with its
smells and sterile plainness. **My personal skills are just fine.** And it
was ridiculous, really. So what if she wanted to put a few people in their
proper place? It wasn't as if the blind girl or the color-blind healer boy
would ever be of any importance. Not like she would be. Inwardly fuming, she
inclined her head. "I understand, Weyrwoman."
"Very well." Rhosyn saw her begin to stand up to go and thought about something.
"Eirlira, I can tell that you are very smart. Smart young women can make good riders
but they have to also be able to deal with their fellow wingriders in order to do so.
So please prove to me that you can be better than this." With that said, Rhosyn let
her go, hoping she was wrong.
