T'nom

T'nom

Things had been going well so far. He'd seen Meledei more in the past
sevenday than he had for some time before the Flight. He'd almost
forgotten how nice it was to spend time with her on a regular basis.

"So, what shall we do today?" He asked as he walked up behind her, a
smile on his face in greeting.

"I want to go see some snow." She didn't know why, but Meledei had
suddenly been struck with the desire. "Maybe build a snow dragon or
something. I haven't done that in forever. I'm sure you've noticed
since coming that it doesn't snow much here." She turned around and
began to walk backwards. "Want to go somewhere so cold you have to
wear ten layers to stay warm?"

"Snow?" He asked incredulously. "Really?" T'nom chuckled at that and
her desires to play in the snow. "Sure, why not, but we'd best get
some warmer clothes and other things packed so we won't get too cold
later." T'nom waited for her to agree before he'd go and get some of
those supplies and some warmer clothes.

**Taldeth, think we're taking a little trip,** He sent out to the
bronze, who sent back the feeling of excitement at some adventure.

"Hey, I don't want to live there, but it's fun to visit. So why don't
we get our things and meet in...half an hour?" Meledei stopped
walking and arched an eyebrow, then grinned. "Come to my weyr."

"Alright, see you then!" T'nom darted off, a happy smile filling his
face. He was enjoying the time they were spending together. Things
were going well, though much of it wasn't a whole lot different than
when they'd spent time together as friends.

A short time later, with a bundle tucked under his arm, he arrived at her weyr.

"Did you remember boots?" Meledei called out. She appeared from
within, one hand pulling a glove on the other. "Soggy feet and cold
don't mix."

"Got boots, jacket, all the important stuff," T'nom replied while he
waited for her to finish her own preparations.

"Great. I've gone some jerky and rolls and a little fruit for when we
get hungry." She plucked a bag from the ground, then moved over to
attach it to Elleth's straps. "Other than that, I think we're good."

"Let's go then, shall we," T'nom stated, eager to be on their way.
Taldeth was ready as well. The bronze enjoyed spending time with
Elleth, his new mate whenever he could.

Meledei mounted Elleth and signaled to T'nom that she was ready. She
passed along an image, that of a mountain she was familiar with. Not
too high to be dangerous or find it too difficult to breathe, but one
she'd been to before. Elleth passed the image along to Taldeth, then
jumped into the air.

Taldeth held the image in his mind and quickly followed Elleth into
the air and/between/. The ice cold of/between/ was far different

than the cold that struck T'nom's face when they emerged over top of
the snow-capped mountain peak.

Meledei urged Elleth to the ground and the gold landed in the snow her
hiding glittering with the silver of the cold powder. She dismounted
and grinned at T'nom as he and Taldeth came for a landing.

"Definitely cold here," he remarked as he dismounted with his pack in
hand. He'd already donned his winter attire under his riding gear,
which kept him warm enough on its own.

"So, what would you like to do now that we're here?" He asked her.

"Have you ever rolled a snowball down a steep incline?" Meledei
gathered snow in her gloved hands and packed it into a ball.

"Sounds like fun," T'nom replied with a grim. He stooped down to
gather his own snow. It started to quickly take the shape of a small
snow ball.

"Watch what happens. It's kind of neat." It wasn't extremely
dramatic, but as Meledei got the ball rolling, it did visibly get
larger before it came to a stop.

T'nom watched and nodded. "That looks like fun, but I think_this_
would be more fun." Then he turned and threw the snowball directly at
Meledei. It smacked into her and he started laughing like crazy.

Meledei stood there for a moment, mock shock and aghast bare on her
open mouthed face. "Oh you! You're asking for it!" She crouched
down and packed a snowball then flung it at him in hopes of getting
him back.

He darted to the side quick enough that the snowball flew right past
his shoulder. He grinned, reached down and started forming a new
snowball.

As soon as Meledei had launched her first snowball, she'd crouched
back down to start another. She managed to get her second made before
T'nom could and she flung it at him, then hastily started on a third.

As he stood up, her snowball smacked right into his chest. It caused
him to drop the one he'd been working so hard on. "Shard it!" He
grumbled, brushing snow off him as he hurried to make another
snowball.

Meledei had realised if she was going to have any chance against
T'nom, she was going to have to be faster than him. His hesitation
had given her more time so as he hurried to make another, she was on
her second. She launched one of the two snowballs she had prepared, a
cackle escaping her lips as it flew.

He managed to hold onto his snowball when hers struck this time. Then

he threw his own with some force behind it. Moving closer to her he
had a better idea to win this little battle quickly. Bending down this
time he scooped up what snow he could and threw the loose powder
towards her, hoping to block her vision and aim.

"Eek!" Meledei darted back, then lost her footing. She found herself
cushioned by the snow as she fell flat on her back, but somehow she
kept a hold of that snowball.

When he saw her fall, concern flickered across his face. T'nom hurried
over to her side to make sure she was okay and managed to slide on the
slippery snow, landing almost right beside Meledei. Then he started
laughing.

"Ha ha ha ha!" Meledei's tone was playfully sarcastic. She realised
she still had that snow in her hand and she pressed it right into
T'nom's face. "Ha! The joke's on you now! Well, the snow is
anyway!"

Sputtering he spit the snow out. Then grabbing a handful himself he
scooted over to her in the snow, prepared to dump it on her. However,
as he lifted his hands over her and his eyes looked at her lying
there, he had a whole different reaction. Instead of dropping snow on
her, T'nom leaned down and kissed her lips. He was simply unable to
stop himself.

It was surprising. She had expected a face full of snow. What she
got was warm, enticing and very inviting. Meledei accepted it and
returned the gesture, then allowed her arms to trail up and wrap
around his neck.

When she responded to his kiss, he groaned a bit. She tasted so very
good, better even than he had expected or imagined. He started to
deepen the kiss. His tongue brushing against her lips to see how she
would respond.

Meledei responded in the affirmative and opened her mouth to encourage
him a little. She deepened the kiss, feeling the warmth of his body
against her helping to fight out the cold.

He groaned again. His tongue darting into her mouth and brushing
against hers. T'nom felt his body almost thrum with excitement. She
tasted so amazing. He wanted more. He'd always wanted more of her. His
hands found their way to her arms, where he gently held her while they
kissed.

Finally for need of air, he broke the kiss, but remained close to her.
His eyes were glinting with happiness and he was smiling rather
smugly.

"Now that was a first kiss worth waiting for," he remarked, taking in
the beauty of her face as he did so.

"Was it?" Meledei laughed, then pulled him down for another one.
