Lenala

Lenala

"Lenala, why is V'raif not on the wing roster? I don't see his name and I know he came back off of light duty!" The Weyrwoman was frazzled and obviously not in a good mood. Breathing heavy, she threw the hides off her desk, expecting her wingsecond, who was somewhere nearby and currently leading the wing, to tell her something. One hand rested on the small of her back. It was hurting from all the walking she had done on top of everything and she was pretty sure her feet could use a massage.

"Because his recovery took a step backwards and he was taken back to infirmary," Lenala said, trying very hard to stay calm. Shouting never accomplished much. Tears were much more effective but only on men. She hovered near the door. The way Rhosyn acted was giving her flashback to Zharesti all over again. That woman still gave her nightmares.

"What? What happened?" Switching from angry to genuinely concerned, Rhosyn was sure she hadn't gotten a healer report on that. Bending down slowly to get to the pile she had thrown into the floor, she tried to find it.

"He was pushing himself too far too soon, doing things his body wasn't yet ready for. He got an infection after over-exhausting himself. Which, by the way, you seem to be in danger of doing too," Lenala's tone was unusually sharp, a startling contrast to her normal soft speaking voice. Crossing her arms over her chest, she gave Rhosyn her best glare.

Once she got up, she looked back at Lenala, obviously confused. Then she realized that the other goldrider was making sense. Well, a little sense. **Maybe I'm getting through to her after all** "Did you go see him?"

"I haven't yet," Lenala admitted. "I'm doing the work of two here, so haven't got the time. We need a Third to our wing," she complained.

"Well I'm trying to get caught up on some of it," she groused, surveying the mess that was her office. Maybe she should find some candidate that had been a harper to help her. It was exhausting trying to get up and down so much. "And yes I know. However at the present time golds are not in abundant supply so we're stuck until someone clutches one and we get them old enough to do anything. Maybe this time Orlaith will give us one." She was sincerely hoping this was the case. Guzzling down some water, she looked back at Lenala thoughtfully. "You're doing good though, you know."

"Thank you, I'm certainly doing my best," Lenala said. "You just concentrate to get well so you can come back. This Weyr isn't ready to have me as permanent Weyrwoman," she continued. Neither was she ready to be the Weyrwoman.

"Well I'm not dead so there's no chance of that," Rhosyn quipped easily, guzzling some more water. "I'll ask Solieira if she has a candidate that can help me get caught up. Once I get started and get through most of it, it'll be okay. I just get tired a bit easy still from everything," she admitted. Rhosyn wasn't testing her limits, though, since she wasn't doing much of her dragon duties yet.

"That's a good idea, I did get some help too," Lenala said. She cocked her head and studied Rhosyn.

"Oh, who helped you?" That was curious and Rhosyn wanted to mark it.

"D'ren," Lenala replied. It was hardly a secret.

"Oh the young lad is making himself useful then. That's good." Always good to have young bronzeriders pulling their weight so if they ever became wingleaders, they could be a benefit to the Weyr. "Which means you haven't tired of
him.."

"I like him. But not in a romantic way. He's a bit too young for my tastes in that regard," Lenala replied.

"He is young. I just think the more we can get him involved now-the better prepared he will be. As his Wingleader, I'm sure K'sedel has already realized his value, though." Thinking of S'ber, Rhosyn was glad of the young crop of bronzeriders around. If she did ever manage a gold egg, that girl would need men who could support her. "Hmm well I'll....see about this mess but right now I've got to use the lavatory." Scooting around her desk, she headed out quickly, disappearing.

Lenala cocked her eyebrows for it. Did that mean she was dismissed?
