Characters: Aslvor, Kirten, Erondeo
Description: A happy day turns dark as dolphin trouble begins
Location: Dolphin Hall
Date: month 12, day 16 of Turn 6

Aslvor was enjoying the time to interact with the dolphins today. The
weather was beautiful and the dolphins were playful.

"Nice!" She called out as Cec jumped playfully through the air.
Motioning the light grey dolphin over, she patted his back. "You're
really improving my friend," she told him. Cec had been recovering
from a rather nasty injury to her tail fin that had taken countless
hours of healing and training. Aslvor had been working closing with
the dainty female dolphin for quite some time.

The other dolphins in the pod were jumping and splashing around and
she heard the calls of many of the other dolphineers who were out
enjoying the day. Glancing around she saw some of the masters, many of
the young apprentices and quite a few of her fellow journeyman.
Nothing could compare to a peaceful afternoon spent in the water with
the lively marine mammals.

Kirten laughed as Birki jumped over his head spinning and splashing
for the umpteenth time. She was happy after completing the tasks
they'd been assigned for the morning. The day was beautiful and Birki
had found her fill of fresh fish. Now she played, dancing away from
the apprentice on her tail.

"Good morning," a young seacrafter nodded to the both of them as he
waded out into the water. Technically he was on call, just waiting in
case a call came in of an emergency. If Erondeo's ship was needed to
ferry dolphineers out to the call, it was ready and easily within a
short jog of the beach. So rather than just sit on the dock and twiddle
his thumbs, since he wasn't allowed to fish so close to the dolphins, he
might as well enjoy the sun as well. He beamed as Birki jumped
overhead, but the splash hit him full in the face and left him spitting
salt water back into the sea. "Was she aiming for me on purpose?"

"Yessss, splasshing isss funnn," chittered the young female with a big
dolphin grin.

"Birki!" Kirten scolded her. "You should say hello nicely before you
splash."

"Meee, splasshy tooo," Cec called out as she leaped her way over to
Kirten, Birki and the seacrafter. "Hellooo, booty," Cec called out, her
way
of acknowledging the seacrafter who was often with them.

Aslvor was close behind Cec. "Kirten, Erondeo," she waved to the
seacrafter as she swam up, "Beautiful day today, isn't it? I wish
every day could be so calm and relaxing." Aslvor paddled around,
basking in the glow of the sun and the happiness that seemed to fill
everyone in the water today.

"It's a little early for hurricanes yet," Erondeo agreed, though he
rather liked a good breeze.

"Hurricane?" Aslvor asked, wondering what Erondeo meant. She looked in
the direction he was looking and paused. What was going on? There were
large splashes of water in the distance. In just that moments the
dolphins all around seemed to pick up on something going on. Many of
them began chittering and splashing.

"Trubble," Cec turned toward Aslvor, her tone showing her distress
even as she swished her head and tail in the water in agitation.

"What's wrong?" She asked, but didn't receive an answer before more
noises could be heard approaching. Dolphins. Dolphins were approaching
and fast. They too were noisy and splashing around in unusual ways.

"Yess trubble, trubble trubble". repeated Birki where she bobbed by
Kirten. "What do you think it is?" He turned toward Aslvor.

"I don't know." Aslvor swam towards the approaching dolphins, along
with some of the others in the water. The dolphin in the lead
approached her as she was closest.

"Helppp...Helppp...weee needs helpp." He intoned quickly as his body
swished back in forth in an agitated manner.

"What is it? How can we help?" Aslvor asked, gently placing her hands
on the dolphins back to try and calm him.

"Ossers hurrt. Stuccks. Need helpp." The dolphin intoned, turning his
sad and frightened eye towards her.

Hurt dolphins? She looked around the group. None seemed hurt to her.
"Which ones are hurt? Where are they stuck?" She asked.

"Farrr. Pleeeseee helpps us." Aslvor turned towards Kirten and Erondeo
who were close by as well as the few other dolphineers who were still
in the water. "They aren't making much sense. Let's try and get them
into the bay in the Hall. We need to get them to calm down and figure
out what's going on." She knew it would be easier to help any injured
and talk to the others once they were in shallower water.

"Shall I get the boat ready?" Erondeo asked Aslvor, as she seemed to be
taking charge of the situation.

"Yes," she called back to him as she tried to steer the anxious
dolphins into the calmer water of the Hall bay. "I'll need to speak to
the Hallmaster and a few others, but we'll have to move quick if the
dolphin lives are in danger." She knew Erondeo would be ready and
waiting, he was always reliable for them. "We'll have to move fast if
we want to get there in time."

"Come on Birki," he called to the distressed young dolphin. "We should
go get Journeyman Naton's device. It might help us find things."

They swam off toward the docks and the interior landing to find the
Journeyman and his new device.
