Description: Leith and Harloth won't play nice.
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 10, day 22 of Turn 6
}:Harloth, are you chasing today?:{ Leith asked as his whirling eyes
alighted on a few greens that might be near their time. The blue's wings
were stretching as he sunned up on the heights. He had to keep ready,
just in case.
}: No :{
The answer was curt and snappy. Harloth was in one of his moods.
}:I'm not. Nosy :{
}:I am not nosy. I just wanted to know. What's got up your rump?:{
Leith made a grunting noise before folding his wings back up. He hadn't
scented anything so it was probably not near time just now.
}: You. :{
The huffy blue swung around where he had curled up to face the other
way- but it wasn't in his nature to leave it at that.
}: Jabbering away like some... :{
**Can it, cranky!**
S'jen squeezed his eyes shut. Moody blue. Then he opened them and cast
around the room for a glimpse of the relevant rider. When fate was so
kind as to actually provide him, he managed an eye-roll-wink-shrug
combination that attempted to communicate both 'Moody dragon, what can
I say?' and 'Dragons, who can fathom them?' all in one.
E'rae didn't really pay half attention to what Leith was doing half the time
since it mostly involved a green dragon or two and who wanted to listen to
that sort of thing all day? The bluerider shrugged and went back to his meal.
}:Like some what? I was just being friendly. Females like friendly:{ Leith had
won quite a few flights in his time so he thought himself a bit of an expert on
this subject.
}: Like some jabbering numbskull two-legged *girl* :{
Harloth really was feeling petulant, and that exclamation brought him
onto his feet and whirling to face the other blue in an intimidating
stance, wings flaring.
Which was, of course, both impossible and utterly ridiculous, given
his tininess. He looked like a canine pup trying to scare its mother.
Though *he* was the core of offended seriousness.
"Alright, hold it right....."
S'jen had automatically risen to his feet- and spoken aloud. And as
the sentence trailed into the hot blush that spread across his cheeks
at the several confused stares it brought him, he cursed his stroppy
blue mentally and plastered on a broad smile. "...there. Sorry ladies
and gents, but I'm depriving you of my wondrous company." He finished
it with a mock bow. At least a few of the spectators giggled and glanced
back to their own business, thankfully. He sighed softly, and then quick
paces took him to E'rae.
Yes, naturally. His pouncy little ball of wounded dignity *would* have
to take umbrage with a dragon whose rider had scary down to a key,
wouldn't he? All the same, at least S'jen always had an innate
brassed-ballness to come to his defense, and he leaned over the man's
shoulder to the man's ear with a soft whisper, "Frightfully sorry about this
one, my good man. He does have his moods. I will sort this one out. In the
meantime, if you would be *so* good as to convince your good fellow not
to take a bite...?" He winked. Well...it was *kinda* funny.
Caught unawares, it took a bit of time for E'rae to catch up to the situation.
When Leith's slight anger came through the bond, he quickly went over the
last few thoughts and realized what had happened and why S'jen was in front
of him. Still and all, his dragon was a lover, not a fighter, unless it came to thread
so he knew there would be no real harm done. "Ah don't worry about it. Leith is
mostly bark and no bite." He smiled a bit crookedly, thinking of his blue.
}:I'm not a girl! And you're just jealous Harloth:{ Leith replied matter-of-factly.
The blue didn't rise to the bait, but his eyes didn't stray from the other dragon
either.
"Fortunately, Harloth's bite scares no one. "
}: I heard that! :{
**Then sit your troublemaking backside down RIGHT NOW!**
}: No :{
Despite the petulant reply, his hind legs folded anyway, making him
look like a ridiculously oversize canine. All the same, he continued
glaring.
}:Jealous of *what? Being an irritating nitwit:{
S'jen rolled his eyes.
**Harloth, Faranth help you if I have to come out there. **
}:I am neither of those. I am a handsome dragon who is good with the females.
I win flights and I can flame very well:{ Self assured, Leith was no
shy blue. No, this dragon knew what he was about. }:You are obviously
unhappy so you must not be those things.:{
For a second...a split second...Harloth considered whether he'd get
away with jumping on the other blue and his insufferable attitude, but
he surrendered the idea quickly.
Instead, he harrumphed a deep snort meant to indicate how below him
answering Leith was, and turned away- 'accidently' batting the blue
across the snout with the tip of his tail.
**HARLOTH!**
While Leith didn't care one whit about it since it didn't hurt him and he simply
moved away, his rider didn't care for any violence done to his dragon. So E'rae
stood up and then looked at S'jen. "I'd advise you to get your dragon handled
before anyone gets hurt."
**Oh yes. Thank you Harloth. Thank you so sharding much**
}: I didn't...:{
**Oh, spare me.**
S'jen had to tip his head back when the rider rose. It didn't help much.
"Yeah.... he's sorry."
**Say you are sorry**
}: I'm not. :{
**Say it anyway! 'I am sorry I am a cranky twazzock acting like I just
shelled.' Go on.**
Leith received a half mumbled rendition of his rider's suggested apology.
The blue accepted it, but he still gave Harloth a look before continuing
his sunning in a different spot. }:I bet he never catches. That's why
he's so mad:{
**I'd probably be mad too but that's not a good enough reason to hurt
others. We're on the same team**
E'rae nodded at S'jen, though he knew the other man was uncomfortable.
The bluerider put his hand out to show there were no hard feelings.
S'jen- just for a fraction of a second- flinched. Then he
overcompensated with the jolliest smile *ever*
"Dragons, eh?"
