Can't Let Her Starve

Writers: Ang
Date Posted: 15th August 2012

Characters: S'ber
Description: Placating his little green while working
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 9, day 2 of Turn 6

The incredibly dark green flit made her way to where her person was
sitting, working on the straps he used on the big bronze. She carried
a still wriggling fish in her front claws before she settled herself
upon a ledge across from him. Placing one paw on the fish, she
ruffled her wings and settled them upon her back as she looked at the
man.

S'ber heard her enter and settle, amusement hidden by his lowered
eyelids. He continued working on softening the new straps, fully
aware that Simay wouldn't begin eating until he did. It was such an
odd quirk that he thought she?d grow out of, but no.

A soft trill sounded as the green tried to get her person's attention.

A quick glance up then down followed the gentle inquiry.

Simay was not happy and she shot her wings out to flap hard in his
direction. ~~ Fish fish fish ~~

}: You know she?s hungry, right? :{ Dylorth grumbled sleepily while he
yawned. She was making him hungry but he?d eaten three days ago and
didn't need anything yet. Turning his gaze to the green, he urged }:
Eat, little one :{

Simay squawked at the bronze and pulled the fish closer. She knew it
was too small for him but she was protective of her food. The green
projected images of S'ber eating with her and she stubbornly clung to
it.

S'ber looked between the two and grinned. "But I'm not hungry," he
said, willing his stomach to stay quiet because he was, in fact, quite
hungry.

}: You are a bad liar :{

** Shhh, you're not helping **

In mid-squawk, Simay turned her rapidly whirling eyes upon her person
and cocked her head. ~~ Eat? ~~ Shifting the fish slightly, she
jumped off the ledge and landed on the floor before him.

The very tall bronzerider was having a tough time keeping his
amusement contained. Reaching up to tuck his dark hair behind a large
ear, he bent closer to her and said, "Not right now."

The green tipped her head back and wailed, her tail lashing back and
forth. Her person didn't want to eat and she was *so* hungry! She
was also incredibly stubborn and refused to eat without him.

Only when her cries died down did S'ber consider putting the straps
away. He'd been slowly gathering the straps during her tantrum. This
was nothing new to him and although Dylorth was adding his displeasure
to hers, he was patient enough to wait it out.

The fish had finally stopped squirming, officially now dead and Simay
nearly dropped it. She didn?t like long dead fish to eat and she
would definitely blame her person for ruining her meal. Until she saw
him reach for the pouch that held some dried herdbeast. With a happy
little trill, she waited until he pulled the strip to his mouth and
took a bite before jumping up for joy. Settling into a comfortable
position, she began picking daintily on the fish.

}: About time :{ the bronze grumbled and settled back into a nap.

S'ber grinned as he chewed, watching Simay be the little lady she was
only when eating. Considering how often the flit needed to eat, he
was careful to always have something for him to munch on since she was
so adamant about only eating with him. ?Happy now??

Simay bobbed her head and answered ~~ Happy Happy ~~
