Description: The greenrider cons the bluerider into helping him get his green in gear.
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 8, day 13 of Turn 6
Notes: Mentor Approved

He was failing miserably. The greenrider looked up at the dragon who was
sunning on her ledge. She didn?t feel like going anywhere. So he couldn?t go
anywhere, even though he wanted to. D?lorn was always telling his weyrlings
they had to control their dragonets. He couldn?t even get his to get up off her
rump! Shaking his head, he wondered what the right tack would be as he
leaned against a rock in the Bowl.

A small bevy of dust would have lifted the glum greenrider's hair- and
smacked him in the mouth too. The grin that slid off of the dinky
little blue responsible for it showed not a sign of apology.

"It's a hot wonderful morning, Fall didn't go too appallingly and
you've got no sharded bevy of babies to babysit right now. What warrants
that ugly face?"

S'jen stripped off riding gloves and slapped them against one thigh
even as his dragon added more dust to the equation, off to hunt sun
and warmth. He too was more than glad of the sun. /Between/ was still
sharded cold!

He didn't cast a thought to whether the other man wanted company.
Ceremony, in his world, was better trampled over than stood on.

D'lorn was too busy coughing out the dust. Wiping his eyes, he realized
who it was. "Villith has decided to stay at home when I wanted to head
up to one of the mountain streams for a nice, cool bath." He looked again
at his dragon, who was now eying him rather obviously.

Sympathy? Not S'jen's specialty. The man burst out laughing-deep guffaws
that invited any and all to join them. "Though what in Faranth's name you
want *cold* for, I'd beg to know." Now it was him left wiping his eyes, though
not for the same reasons.

"Thanks. Really." He sighed, looking back at his green. A menacing look
was not going to win this battle. "If you've never done it, you won't
understand. Plus I think it's better for my skin." He pointed out his
face, which wasn't half as bad as it had been when he'd only been taking warm baths. "I feel
refreshed too."

One eyebrow quirked. Sure, green dragon and all, but skin? Sweet shells. "I'll
take your word for it, mate." He chuckled again softly. "Have you tried telling
her that? How it will give her the shiniest hide of all of them come her
next flight?"

"That is a thought," D'lorn considered as he felt immediately thankful to S'jen.
Sometimes blueriders had good ideas. **How about it? You'll certainly have
better hide than all of these dragons bathing in saltwater.**

}:Will Harloth go too?:{ she asked of S'jen's blue.

The greenrider turned back to S'jen, looking a bit sheepish. "She wants
Harloth to go."

S'jen rolled his eyes, but only mentally. Greens! Silly things. Thank thunder he
didn't have to put up with one himself. Just to be annoying, he shot the other man
a slightly ambiguous smile.

**Up to it?**
}:No. Cold. Not even for pretty greens.{:

"He says sure...."

A quick discussion and Villith snorted. D'lorn quickly headed up to
get her straps on and then pack the bathing supplies he had sitting there. Airborne,
they waited for the other pair. }:Here are the coordinates:{ she passed on sweetly
to the blue.

The brief strapping interval was *just* enough time for a soft, homely
argument. By the time they drew level with Villith's wing, it had
lapsed to a stubborn silence, however. }: /Between/'s cold too.{:

**Do cease your lamentation, sweet blue.**
}: Let's go then. Through the cold. To the cold. :{

As they circled, courteously letting the green pair settle first, even
the sulking blue had to admit, however }:Pretty, though. And the rocks
may be warm:{ S'jen just chuckled.

Villith touched down and admired the mountains of the Weyr's southernmost
territory. As D'lorn worked to get her straps off, she found herself watching the
blue. When she was unencumbered, she slinked very calculatingly into the
cool water and ducked under it in the deep pool before bringing her head back
up.

"Now she's showing off." The greenrider couldn't help but be amused at his
dragon's antics. It was highly likely she was due to rise again soon,
so this was
typical behavior.

"Alas, I fear it may be wasted." S'jen's trademark soft chuckle fell
out, watching
the other rider under deceptively sleepy hooded eyelids. "The great grumpy blue
there has had a hard morning /betweening/, and needs his warmth before he

collapses, apparently. Give him 5 min's though." As it happened, his estimate
wasn't far off. As the sun baked his bones, Harloth's mood slowly warmed with
it, and he eyed the 'pretty green' at her antics.

After her bath was done, Villith got out and went to sun beside Harloth. D'lorn
wandered over to sit under a tree. After being in the cold water, he was glad to
be wrapped in a towel. "Boy it sure does wake you up."

S'jen, as fond of the warm at the moment as his preoccupied blue, had
neglected to join him, rather finding a perfect basking spot to enjoy
the sun and the view. "I'll take your word on it," he said softly, hooded
eyes regarding the scene. "Come join me. Warm up."

Seeing something else in S'jen's eyes entirely, D'lorn could think of an easier way
to warm up. Nodding his head once, he got up and lowered himself down to the
bluerider. It wasn't long before he wasn't cold anymore.
