Whistling as he pushed himself into the water, D'lorn was glad of the
warm bath. His muscles ached and his body needed the heat. Thinking
about putting his head under the water, the greenrider moaned as the
scent of the soapsand reached his nostrils. He'd gotten it at a gather
and he loved the stuff.

The scent also wafted down the stone bath wall until it reached Honalys'
nostrils. "Hey, is that your sweetsand?"

"Oh aye. Got it at the last gather I went to and love it. Problem is, I
don't quite know if I'll find more." He frowned as he considered that
possibility.

"Well, where was the Gather?" Honalyse could _always_ find more of
something she wanted.

"The one they had at Sapphire Meadows Hold," he replied. "It was at
one of those traveling trader stalls. Shells I can't even remember which
train. Do you know what train goes that way?"

"No, I forget the names of the traders out that direction, but I'm sure
you can find out easily enough." And there was more than one way to
skin a feline. "Save some and take it to a smith chemist. They might
be able to tell you what's in it."

"Oh?" D'lorn made a slightly surprised sound. "You know I never thought
of that." He was quiet for a bit then before asking, "So how have you
been flying Honalyse?" Since he'd gone to the weyrling wing, he really
didn't get to catch up much.

"Oh fine," she said with a wave of her hand. "Same old same old.
Shards, even fighting Thread is starting to feel like another day of
drills." Life was becoming rather tedious, really.

"You know, that's actually a good thing. It means that our Weyr is
fighting thread well. I mean if drills are about like the real thing,
then we're prepared." D'lorn liked the Weyrleader and thought the man
knew his business.

"Yeah, but it's getting boring. I mean, the other day I thought about
trying to get M'galec into bed just for something _different_ to do."
Now _that_ would have been a move of desperation! "I didn't, of
course," she wanted to make perfectly clear.

"Thank Faranth for that," D'lorn exhaled, trying not to picture it. "If
you're that bored, why don't you go party with K'mai? I hear he's fun."

"Yeah, he's fine. But I'm _always_ partying. Even _partying_ is
getting boring." Shards, her life really was dull. Honalyse had
thought grannies and middle-agers were always so pathetic when
they complained about how boring life could be. When did she
grow so old?

"You ever thought about crafting then? Lots of riders do that a little."
He didn't know if Honalyse was particularly good at anything, but it
was worth a shot.

"I don't know. It all just looks like a lot of book work to me." She
wasn't even sure what she'd be good at. Well, she knew what she _was_
good at, but there was no craft for it.

"Depends on what you do. Some of it's more hands-on stuff like tanning
or even drawing or whatever." He didn't have time for that sort of
thing, but he didn't mind it anyway.

"Ooooo! Massage!" Now that was something that pertained to her
particular interests.

"Well there you go. There are some healers that get very good at that."
Some of them assisted those who got injured. D'lorn had help from them
a time or two.

"Yeah, but I don't think I want to actually commit to anything," she
said, sinking down into the water so only her chin rested on top.
"Masters get kind of mad if you give up after a month or two from what I
understand."

"Very true. Guess we're back to where we started." And his skin was
becoming very wrinkled. D'lorn began to think about getting out of the
water.

"Wait!" Honalyse said, suddenly rising out of the water and creating a
miniature tsunami that raced across the pool. "Do they give _lessons_
on that sort of thing?"

"Maybe? They give lessons on how to play instruments so why not?"
D'lorn went ahead and got out, grabbing a towel to dry himself. Yawning,
he was just about ready to hit his furs.

"Wait!" Honalyse called, jumping out of the water herself and fishing
for a towel. "Who would I ask about that?"

"Probably one of the journeyman healers," he offered. "You know any?
Maybe you could ask them for a massage eh? See if they'd teach you
some tricks."

A few had already taught her some tricks. Now she wanted to learn
_massage_. "Know any male healers with a specialty in massage?
Preferably into women?"

"Unfortunately I don't. After all, I don't generally talk to the ones
who aren't interested in my side of things." He frowned, picking up
his soapsand and sticking it into his carisak with his clothes.

"That's too bad," Honalyse said with a sigh, pulling on a pair of
shorts. "Well, maybe I'll find one somehow, and then I'll take some
lessons. That would be something new at least."

Finishing drying, he grabbed his own clothes and made to go. "It'd
be valuable certainly. Let me know if you do. I've got a few aches
here and there you could practice on."

"I'll do that," she promised, though he wasn't exactly the type she was
thinking of practicing on as she pulled on her shirt.
