Description: N'klar teases G'wen out of bed with a few promises
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 3, day 14 of Turn 6
It wasn't difficult to find out where G'wen's new weyr was located,
and N'klar decided nothing would cheer up a body like a couple of
skins of wine as a weyr-warming gift, and maybe a trip outside of the
Weyr too.
He had Julerith contact Neath and ask if they could visit. He wasn't
sure G'wen was any cheerier lately than he had been before graduating
to senior weyrling. Maybe less so, even, as that every so scary
first mating flight drew closer. It would be a few months yet, but
these younglings _would_ worry themselves over nothing!
}:Julerith's wants to know if he can come over:{ Neath told G'wen, who
was still abed. Her tone sounded less than approving. But that would
be understandable, as she kept hoping for a bronze body to share her
wallow with.
**Tell him okay, but I'm not dressed yet.**
Well, that had never stopped N'klar before, so he and Julerith landed
on Neath's ledge. Polite and flirty, as ever, the blue made crooning
noises at Neath. }:Will you share your ledge with me, pretty one?:{
He hopped off his blue, leaving him to his wooing, and headed into the weyr.
"Get up, lazy greenrider. I think we're going out today, that is, if
you feel up to it." N'klar just went on inside, not stopping to
consider what state of dress or undress he'd find G'wen in; neither
mattered to him much at all.
It didn't matter much to G'wen either. After all the stuff between
him and most of the blueriders in this Weyr, he was starting to be
resigned to his fate.
And the site of his naked back and arse wouldn't be a turn on for a
man like N'klar.
He must have seen much nicer ones in his life. G'wen peered blurry-eyed through
his tangle of hair at the tall bluerider, from his position sprawled
across the bed, his blanket over his legs.
N'klar jerked the blanket off him and then snapped it against his bare
arse. There was lots of attractive body in view, but it was a
_young_ body. Just barely into senior weyrlinghood. But he could
admire for a moment. Ahh, the joys of youth! "Wake up your cute
arse, G'wen. I brought you some wine as a weyr-warming gift and
thought we might go find some trouble to get into today, maybe go to a
gather or go swimming. But for any of it, you have to wake up and
be sensible. So? Are you sensible?" that greenrider-charming grin
widened across his face. Too cheery by half, most like.
G'wen had yelped and jumped up to grab his dressing robe when N'klar
had done that. Rubbing his rear and mock glaring at the bluerider, he
said, "if I_was_sensible, I wouldn't have you as a friend, now would
I?" Covered up in the robe fit more for a tall man than for him--and
feeling more protected for it even if this was only N'klar--he sat up
crossed legged on the bed and patted the seat beside him, looking
curious at the bottles of wine. "So what'd you get me? And how did
you manage to get it past Neath? She's still not forgiven me for the
last restday." No one ever got him presents and a small grin tugged
at the corners of his mouth.
N'klar chuckled at the robe. "You haven't grown into _that_ one yet,
dearling." He climbed onto the bed beside him and presented his wine
skins triumphantly. "I think your dragon might have been distracted
by my charming blue lifemate out there... she didn't seem to notice
that I had a gift for you, of the alcoholic kind. But being friends
with me almost has to mean _wine_. I'm a Vintner after all!" He said
a bit primly.
After handing over the skins - one white and one red of N'klar's own
devising - he looked seriously at the boy. "I heard you got into
some trouble a couple sevendays ago, G'wen. Or at least, had trouble staying
awake." His eyes twinkled.
G'wen rolled his eyes at that. "You're only allowed to tease me if
you promise to finish off what Sh'lua started." He gave him a 'look'
and reached up to kiss him on the cheek. Let N'klar make what he
wanted of that. The man's facial stubble was rough under his lips but
he didn't mind. He sat back to study the wine skins. "So are you
going to teach me how to drink these things then?"
"When you're a little older, G'wen." He stuck his tongue out at his
friend. He wasn't bothered by it, he grinned though as he added,
"Or maybe when Neath decides to Rise for the first time. I can finish
all you want then." he winked, then shook his head. "Not today.
You had enough to drink with Sh'lua, or so I heard. Today we are
going to have fun without drinking. So, get up, get dressed, and
lets go. "
"Turn your back then." G'wen waved his hand at N'klar before quickly
putting his clothes on. Half muffled by his shirt, then tunic, he
asked, "so where are we going? You got anything in mind?" Once done,
he flopped down on N'klar's lap, unable to resist teasing him. "Can
we go somewhere where Neath can come too?"
"Well, we can go /between/ ...she's old enough now.
There are some friends playing waterball at a cove
down by the seashore in River Bluff territory. Want to go see them?
We can go there, I've got the visual. Do you want to learn to play
waterball? Or do you know how, lazy greenrider?" He tweaked G'wen's
side at a soft spot, then started to stand up.
"If you keep sitting in my lap, though, we aren't going anywhere!"
At that G'wen rolled his eyes and stood up. "Oh, you blueriders! All
tease and no muscle. If_I_had my way, we'd be going to a quiet cove,
just the two of us, but...so where is this waterball game?"
"You're missing the bigger picture, my dear. There will be loads of
half-naked men...and women... laying around on the beach or playing in
the water for our visual enjoyment. We don't actually have to
_play_.....but the scenery is very fine." He kissed G'wen's cheek
playfully and shook his head. "And I told you, you're a little young
for me...but wait until you're a few turns older and it won't bother
me quite so much. But I'll have Julerith in Neath's first Flight if
at all possible... that's a promise, dearling." He grinned.
"I told ya, its in River Bluff territory, a nice cove near there that
I've ...ahh..visited before." Was that a blush? Surely not, and not
visible under his ruddy skin, either. "But you, my dear, need
permission to take yourself and your lovely green out of the Weyr. So
why don't I go get Julerith to ask your grouncy Weyrlingmaster for
permission, and you pack a little bag for swimming and playing?"
"We could take that grouncy man with us," G'wen teased back. "Give
him a kiss from me..." At that he turned to find a bag under the
pile of clothes and other 'stuff' in the corner of his room.
N'klar's laughter bubbled up after him as he headed back out to his
blue, pulling him away from Neath and flirting. Recalling the look
in J'darin's eyes the night he'd come to borrow wine from him a little
more than a month ago, he expected there was no way on Pern he'd get
_that_ man to go anywhere. He might not even get him to say yes to
taking G'wen so far away. But with dragons... /between/ .. made
everything close. He hoped so, it would do G'wen good to meet some
other greenriders from another Weyr.
"If I give him a kiss, I won't be coming back. The man is liable to
punch me out. I'll tell him you asked after him, though, sweetling."
Snickering, he pulled his reluctant blue to the business at hand.
**Send to Hasaarth, love, and ask if G'wen can come out and play with
me. In just those words, mind. **
G'wen snickered at N'klar's words, sobering a bit when he thought
about the Weyrlingmaster. He was pretty sure the man didn't like him
so much. Ah well, there wasn't much he could do about it. He perked
up, at the thought of seeing River's Buff area. **What are they
saying,** he asked Neath.
}:I am asking Hasaarth if his rider minds if your rider and mine go to
play. :{ Julerith supplied, when asked, and soon his rider was popping
back into the weyr, smiling. "Well grouncy weyrlingmaster says you
can go but you have to be back before your curfew. So lets go visit
our friends at River Bluff and have some fun!"
