Not Quite That Bad

Writers: Len, Chelle
Date Posted: 28th July 2011

Characters: Rhosyn, C'vanish
Description: There's a proddy Weyrwoman on the prowl, as one bronze rider finds out
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 3, day 1 of Turn 6

Her bootheels clicked on the stone floors as she went through the
tunnels. Rhosyn had finished her wing meeting and was now headed
to the Dining Cavern. She was starving and she just wanted her food.

"Heya, how are you?" Out of the shadows, one of the bronzeriders
stepped out.

She turned, wondering just who it was. She wouldn't put it past N'vanik
to show up in a hallway, though usually Orlaith would tell her when he
came. And when she saw the face and realized it wasn't him, she frowned.
"Tired, hungry, and about to get food."

"Yeah, fancy some company?" The rider, C'vanish, sidled up to her,
not at all upset that he barely topped her in height.

"You can sit if you want, but it'll be better if you're quiet." And that was
the only warning she would give. Rhosyn would make nice with the bronzeriders.
That was their due and she needed them to listen to her. However, right
now she was barely leashed and she had an excuse.

"Quiet? Me?" He stared at her like she was asking him to go to the
Red Star and back.

"Aye unless you want your tongue eaten," she turned and kept walking.
Intent on her food, she wasn't going to wait around for him to make up his mind.

"You'd do that for me? I'm honoured!" He did step in line with her
after putting on a bit of a sprint when she walked away, getting into
her slipstream.

When they reached the dining cavern, she grabbed her food and then
went to her high table. She sat down and tore into the rolls.

C'vanish peddled after her, slipping in alongside when she sat down
and began eating. "So how's Orlaith?"

"Verrrryyy healthy," was her answer as she finished the roll and then
started to cut up her herdbeast.

"If you slow down, you might actually get to taste that." He nodded
to the food she was eating.

"I am starving and if I don't eat, I will fall over," she growled.
**If that man says one more stupid thing....**

"And is falling over a bad thing?" he rather liked girls that fell
over, particularly over his bed.

"Indeed. If I pass out and go unconscious, Orlaith could get very upset
and no one wants that." Rhosyn dipped a little sauce onto her herdbeast,
then put another bite into her mouth.

"No we wouldn't." He fidgeted about a bit, readjusting his green
jersey. "So is she due to Rise soon then?"

"She's not as regular as some dragons. During a Pass, it's hard to know.
She doesn't always wait between flights." Rhosyn sometimes could pinpoint
it beforehand, but other times she didn't know until the day of. Her queen
was a bit unpredictable when it came to mating.

"You girls ever get nervous?"

"Nervous? Nervous about what? It's not like I'm going to wake up with a woman,"
Rhosyn snorted at that ludicrous idea.

"No, but just the idea of a random group of men and you'll have
to..y'know..." He shrugged his shoulders and took a sip of his klah.

"Such is the life of any gold or greenrider. And it's not random. I've
made it my
business to know each bronzerider in this Weyr and there's not one of them that
I wouldn't mind waking up with, to tell the truth." She hoped work
didn't get back
to M'galec that she'd said that. "Well maybe one, but that is what it is."

"That 'one' isn't me, by any chance is it?" He gave her a silly grin
and eyed her mostly empty plate. "Need a re-fill on that?"

"Please. And no, you're not quite that bad." She snorted and sat back, grabbing
at her cup for a drink.

"Oh, good." He gave her his best smile and sprinted off to re-fill
her plate. He put more of the same on it, plus a few sweets, before
returning it to her.

She took it and then proceeded to ignore him, in favor of the nice things
set before her.

He watched her and sighed, thinking this was worse than trying to get
up a mountain.
