Oria

Oria

C'lor opened his eyes and immediately noticed a distinct difference from the day before. He grinned as he saw Oria headed in his direction. "Oria! How's Degrorth?" he asked sitting up a bit akwardly but upright still the same.

"Fine," was the reply. "She's sunning on her ledge, and of the opinion I should be there with her. You know what they can be like."

"That I do. Hayreith is having a hard time understanding why he can't see me yet."

"I don't think he'd fit in here," replied Oria with a grin. "But maybe we could get you to the entrance, and have him come to the bowl?" she suggested. "I'm sure the Journeyman would understand if you asked them."

"I thought of that, but the healers said to wait another sevenday. I never really understood how long a threadscore took to heal until experiencing it myself." he said truthfully managing a smile for his friend. There were a lot of things he was still learning that being holdbred had never prepared him for.

"Would you like me to check on him?" she asked. There weren't many people she would trust to look after Degrorth if the situations were reversed, and she hoped C'lor might let her see if he was okay.

"Yes, that would ease my mind, thank you." he replied. His cousins had offered, but they had a lot to do and he didn't want to burden them any farther than he already had. They had brought his mother to the Weyr when they thought they might lose him and she hadn't wanted to go back home yet.

"I'll send Dhory to you afterwards, with a note to let you know everything is okay."

"Thanks, I appreciate it. I don't know how much longer it will take to heal and don't want him to suffer because I can't care for him properly."

"He's probably enjoying the fuss that the candidates will be making of him.
They've got working parties of them on dragon care at the moment."

"Maybe that's what he's been talking about. I haven't understood everything he's told me with all the medicines they've given me. I get......" he said pausing to yawn tiredly. "Excuse me....tired very easily." he finished giving her a weak smile.

"You'll be better soon," she said comfortingly.

"I know. You'll come visit with me again, won't you?"

"I will, and Dhory will be here with a note telling you all about Hayreith before you know it."

"Thanks." he said feeling his eyes start to close unvoluntarily and knew he wouldn't be able to stay awake much longer.

She saw him drop off to sleep, and crept away. Sometimes that was the best medicine of all.
