He had caught her.
The knowledge sent a thrill through Ri'len and it made his face light into a smile even before he opened his eyes. Monilath had done it, had taken the green, and Ri'len had in turn had been able to be with his wife instead of some other man. Satisfaction accompanied that thought. The young man tightened his hold upon his weyrmate and nuzzled her cheek.
Sorsha responded immediately. She knew who had claimed her, who had felt so right against her as she laid in his arms. Her husband. She turned her head up and kissed him, pulling him to her so that they could experience each other again.
Ri'len moaned, but it was a sound of pleasure. He didn't argue, didn't even say a word. Instead, he let the lingering flight lust take over, though his lovemaking wasn't as frantic, nor as mindless as it had been when the dragons had consumed them. The second time, though, he was spent, but he cradled Sorsha's body to him and pressed her head gently beneath his chin. Monilath had won. Shards! He was glad of it. As much as Ri'len tried to assure Sorsha that her being with another man in a flight was okay, he couldn't feel anything but relief that there hadn't been another man - just him.
"That... was different." Sorsha breathed when she could think again.
"Yes. Yes it was." He hadn't even really even known. Ri'len had been so wrapped in his dragon that everything had been shaded with that desire, that need, not his own. Only when it was over had he come back to his senses. "I think I prefer without dragons."
Sorsha remembered, but it was tumbled and blurry and mixed with Roseth's feelings and thoughts. As she laid in Ri'len's arms she tried to separate the two, but found it difficult. "It felt good... but I liked the second time better."
"I second that." Ri'len placed a tender kiss upon her forehead. "Not as frenzied. I can enjoy you a lot better." Did they have to get up? He didn't want to. How long did they have?
"It was really strong the second time." Sorsha remarked, still trying to piece everything together. "I guess that's why so many people stay for the second time."
"I'm all for staying for a third." Ri'len suggested as he nuzzled Sorsha in that delectable space behind her ear. "I get two votes."
Sorsha giggled, but pulled away. "Can we go back to our Weyr first? I can't help but feel self conscious in here. Everyone knows what we're doing."
"So?" He didn't care. They were husband and wife...Weyrmates to the rest of Pern. "We're supposed to do this sort of thing." He grinned and pulled her right back to him and kissed her soundly. "But for you," He stated, his voice a low, "I will get dressed and go to our Weyr."
"I won't make you wait long." she promised. She didn't think she could anyways. As it was, it took every bit of self control to untangle herself from his arms.
"I'll hold you to that promise." Ri'len grinned as he pushed himself up and began to wrestle into his clothes. He picked up Sorsha's tunic and held out a hand to help her up.
After a few moments Sorsha was dressed. She looked around frantically though, tossing the light blanket back and forth across the bed. "I can't find my barrette. I know I had it on when I came down here."
"You're barrette?" Ri'len stopped in his tracks, his hand upon the knob of the door. "What barrette? He didn't remember any barrette. Of course, he didn't remember a whole lot before the flight in general.
"The white one." Sorsha replied, then bent over, coming up victorious. "Found it. Okay, I'm ready."
"If you don't hurry, I might not make it back to the weyr." Ri'len chuckled as he opened the door and held his hand out to her.
Giggling again, both at his comment and at their disheveled appearance, Sorsha took his hand and raced back to their weyr where she was sure they would be spending the rest of the day.
