Dear Leisenn,
It appears that I've had a slight delay in my plans. The ship I was travelling on found itself in the middle of a nasty storm and I was foolish enough to think that I was as spry as some of my younger shipmates and ended up breaking my leg. Due to the skill of the captain, we made it out of the storm and made ship repairs at Gillard Rock; which is where I am now. The Tavern master was kind enough to make me a deal on a long term room rental, so I am staying here while my leg slowly mends. The healer here says it'll be a long recovery, something about my age, but I think he's just being cautious.
How are things at the Hall? Is Calla well? It should be near time for her to calf if I've my time right, make sure a good healer checks her and the babe when she feels comfortable, she might be stubborn since I'm not there, but tell her I said to quit being so overprotective!

As if there weren't enough worries with apprentices' progress, the tangled relationships of journey folk, and the squabbles among the Hall's master dolphineers, Leisenn thought to herself when the note arrived from the former Hallmaster, there was Mosler and his 'investigation'.
Dear Mosler,
Are you sure you've not just found a pleasant spot with good beer to while away the worst of the season's storms?
She didn't believe it for a moment. The man was obsessed with his quest for justice for the death of a journeyman dolphineer who had been under his command.
Is the place you've settled 'safe'? Will you be all right there or should we try to get you back here until you're fit again?
It wouldn't be too suspicious for somebody to try to get back to their home SeaHold when they weren't able to earn their keep and it need not be advertised that the 'home' he disappeared to was the Dolphin Hall.
As for Calla I shall set our pregnant apprentice to make friends with her. Alydelle has a good rapport with the dolphins - far in advance of her studies - and they do have something in common. And of course I'll pass on your greetings, your message, and your whereabouts.
It wouldn't hurt for the dolphins to know to look out for him.
Let me know if there's anything we can do to help,
Leisenn

My Dear Leisenn,
You worry about me too much. I'm quite safe here at this tavern, and I've made friends with a young boy who is collecting shells for me from the beaches that I can fashion into bracelets and necklaces and peddle for a few coins. This is actually a quite advantageous position for me to be in, I've been here almost a sevenday now and already the locals are becoming used to me. You wouldn't believe the information people give out once they think you are harmless!
Alydelle? She's quite young to be with child... I can't say that I approve, but I'm sure you didn't either. I'm sure it was a very fun conversation you had with her family, another reason I'm glad you're in the position instead of me!

PS: The beer isn't that great and the wine is worse!

Dear Mosler,
If the wine and beer aren't up to you standards we should certainly consider a rescue mission. Or perhaps a parcel from 'home'? Let me know.
I'm glad to hear that your beach-combing endeavours -
She remembered the first time she had found him beach-combing, something she considered rather beneath a former Hallmaster, no matter the supposed condition of his heart.
- are once again keeping you entertained.
Alydelle ... I'm sure you know exactly the kind of reception I got from her family. What else can be said?
Take care,
Leisenn

My Love Nesiel,
How I miss you so. Your idea of a parcel sounds fantastic, and if my dear cousin Swift could send some of my favorites, that would be all the better. I've got quite a few friends about at the moment, so I won't chat long, just know that I'm thinking of you and as soon as I get this leg fixed up, I'll be back out on the boats and sending marks back to you and the family.
I'll write when I can.
Mosler
Leisenn frowned at the last note, suddenly in a more discrete form with even her name reversed. Did that mean somebody was around - somebody close and interested enough to read what the man with the broken leg was writing?
She would certainly get Swift to send a parcel and she would also keep worrying about the former Hallmaster ... For all the good it would do her.
