"Stop doing that, stay in your place!" E'naer commanded when his green edged her way closer to a bronze in a weyrlake. He was bathing his life-mate and she had decided to flirt. }: Hello there, handsome :{, Eillispeth purred at the bronze, ignoring her rider. The bronze curled his great neck towards her. A head covered in dark waves peeked over Kalamath's head. "What is your dragon doing to my lifemate, E'naer?" U'kaiah chuckled. "Seducing him. That's what she does to every male that comes within talking range," E'naer answered with a roll of his eyes. Okay, so, he did that too, but at least he restricted himself to blueriders only.

"Yes, well, as you can see, he doesn't need much encouragement," U'kaiah laughed. "I want to scrub his head but he says he's clean enough. I think he just doesn't want her to see his perfect hide covered in sweetsand. He's proud one, this one." He slapped the hide effectionately.

}: We _both_ hear you, you know :{ Kalamath complained.

**Sorry, boy. Am I embarrassing you?** He didn't wait for an answer. "Well, I think I'm tired of scrubbing anyway. I'm gonna take a break. Want to sit a while, E'naer?"

"I have to finish her back first" E'naer answered. "It could go faster if she would stay still", this was meant as a hint to his life-mate. E'naer became suddenly aware that he was wearing only swimming trunks and his Thread-scarred shoulder and back were clearly visible. He busied himself with scrubbing Eillispeth. "Shards, is that from your Threadscoring before, E'naer," U'kaiah asked as he looked at the back turned towards him.

"Yes, ugly aren't they" E'naer replied rather curtly. The subject was still bit sore. U'kaiah shrugged. "I have seen worse. Did you see mine?" The bronzerider turned so E'naer could see the threadscore scar that covered his left shoulder blade and onto the back of his upper arm. "I got this in the fourth Fall of the pass. I guess I was pretty lucky it was just my shoulder."

E'naer inspected his back. In fact, he was much more interrested the way his back muscles rippled under his skin. "Lucky indeed. Were you in danger of losing your arm? I was." "I wasn't in danger of losing the arm since it was mostly on my back, but at first they thought I would lose some of the mobility. I think the Healer's at the time weren't sure how threadscore really healed." He flexed, stretched and rotated the arm to show that he did indeed have full mobility. "Luckily they were wrong."

"They do have improved their skills greatly, luckily for all of us" E'naer agreed. "I think so," he said with a nod. "We all benefit from their skills. And Eillispeth? Has she recovered?"

"She's perfect" E'naer replied, smiling fondly at the green. "She looks beautiful," U'kaiah smiled. "Kalamath certainly thinks so."

"He does look good too," E'naer admitted, the dragonhealer in him judging the bronze's looks. "He doesn't show the stress you've been under lately." U'kaiah nidded. "Luckily it seemed his body was a lot harder to break than mine was." Though the bronzerider still shuddered when he thought what could have happened... to _both_ of them...

"I've noticed that too. How did that old saying go: If they think they can do it, they can do it." "Something like that. I envy them that. Even if it's not true, I envy their confidence."

"Yes, me too. It would be nice not have these doupts of your own abilities." U'kaiah smiled over at his lifemate. "Well, maybe that's why we need them. If we tried to face Thread alone we would doubt ourselves and run in fear. But on the back of a dragon, their confidence spills over to us."

"You're probably right" E'naer nodded. He looked his dragon. "We're done, my beauty. I hate pry you off from you boy-friend, but the weyrlings are waiting." "Was nice talk with you, see you around U'kaiah."
