Description: Zelle takes J'darin out of the Weyr for Turn's End, after finding him in a sorry state.
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 13, day 29 of Turn 4
Zelle placed her fists upon her hips, her eyes scanning his form. Shards, he was handsome, especially when dressed up like that. She wasn't about to tell him that, though - no need to stroke that ego that was already as big as his bronze. "I suppose that will do, but really, you are drunk. I don't know if I want you embarrassing me in public."
The greenrider swept past him, lips pursed into a sour expression as she made her way hesitantly toward the ledge where her dragon rested and waited. "If you do, I might just have Rillith drop you off a cliff."
"Ha! She wouldn't dare!" He snorted at her, and Hasaarth echoed it. "And Hasaarth wouldn't let her, anyway. Silly greenrider." He followed her out to where both dragons lay next to each other, and extended his arm. "Hasaarth will take us, Zelle. And I will _not_ threaten to drop _you_ off a cliff."
"I'll only agree to let Hasaarth take us if he'll take a visual from Rillith." Zelle didn't care what he said, she wasn't going to trust a fogged head.
He peered at her in confusion that wasn't all drunken-ness for a moment. "A visual? Lass, I may be drunk, but we're just going down there... " He waved a hand out and down toward the weyrbowl. "Don't need a visual for _that_. Just a lift...." He grinned at her. "No /between/ needed." He looked uncertain.. "Even a drunken bronzerider knows that!"
Well, he was certainly making a _wonderful_ escort, wasn't he?
"That's not where I was planning on going." Zelle stated as she made her way over to the bronze. "But you don't have to come with me if you don't want to."
Now uncertainity became confusion. "We're not celebrating here, with the rest of the Weyr? Where else would we go, Zelle? I'm happy to go with you, though, whereever..." He paused. Dolphin Cove was his home, yes, but he felt decidedly unwelcome in his own home these days.
"We're going to see some friends of mine, but you surely don't know where that is." Zelle leaned against the bronze's warm hide and crossed her arms over her chest. "So are you coming or not?" She hoped the decision she made had been a good one. She had received an invitation, of course, and given leave to bring a guest or two if she so desired. She had decided on one - J'darin. She would have asked K'hetah, but she had the distinct feeling he would have refused. Besides, J'darin needed to get out more.
J'darin's eyes brightened at that and smiled. "I didn't want to go down there with _them_. She's so happy now. I never made her that happy. I just made her mad." He sighed and looked at Hasaarth quietly. He had lost his dragon his mate. But maybe they could still celebrate... somewhere else.
He bowed low before her. "I would be honored, Zelle. /Between/ will sober me up. Hasaarth will take the visual from Rillith, but she can also come too. I think I can sit my dragon alone."
}:I would never let you fall! even to make your head clear.:{
"Hasaarth assures me he will not let me fall."
"Suit yourself." Zelle patted Hasaarth, then turned away. A moment later, Rillith landed upon the ledge and Zelle mounted. "Well, what are you waiting for, slow poke? Are you coming or not?" She grinned as she secured her straps and before J'darin had a chance to answer, dragon and rider were airbound, circling as they waited.
J'darin finally got onto Hasaarth, who was arching his neck and teasing Rillith as he waited for his rider. He didn't mind green dragons waiting on _him_.
"We're coming." And he found himself smiling, despite the amount of drink he'd ingested.
**Take your visual from Rillith, beloved. And lets have some fun... **
Rillith bellowed back, toying with the bronze. A moment later, she passed on a visual from her rider, then blinked /between/.
They came out above a place that was rather chilly. Below them, brown grass stretched and a Caravan sat, pulled together into a circle. A huge fire glowed in the dusk that was settling over the area, welcoming them merrily. As they landed, the two dragonriders could hear laughter and music. Zelle dismounted, turning toward the wagons and smiling as figures began to mill about then come toward them. She walked over to J'darin and looked up at him expectantly. "Coming down or not?"
J'darin peered with interest at the scene below. He didn't think he'd ever been to a caravan party. His father would have be sharding mortified! He crowed with laughter at the thought and dismounted from Hasaarth with very little sign of the drink he'd ingested. /Between/ had cleared his head, after all.
"It looks like fun, Zelle." He said warmly, and wrapped an arm around her shoulder loosely. "Thank you for inviting me."
Maybe turnover was going to be _good_ after all...
