"Good afternoon, Weyrwoman." Dantial closed the door on one of the private
offices, giving Traelyn privacy for her checkup. "My name is Dantial... I
believe you've met my brother, O'dan."

Her polite smile turned into more of a small grin at the mention of that
certain bronzerider. "Yes, I do believe I have. He's mentioned you,
Dantial. It's good to finally meet you."

Dantial held out a hand to her with his own smile. "Well, I'm not sure
it's good that he's mentioned me. I assure you I'm not as bad as he says.
Big brothers have a way of being annoying."

"He didn't say you were bad! Though...he did say you look like him a
bit." Traelyn smiled at him as she took his hand. "And you do."

"With a far straighter nose," Dantial replied dryly, moving to offer
Traelyn a seat. "But it's not my injuries or lack thereof that we're here
to discuss! Have a seat and tell me how you've been feeling. It's been an
exciting few sevendays, if I understand."

"Exciting is certainly a different way of phrasing it," she said as she
settled into her chair.

"I'm sure." Dantial took a seat across from her, opening the file in front
of him. "Now, let's see... the Weyrhealer at Dragonsfall was kind enough
to forward this along..."

Trae peered at the papers on his desk. "Some of the information in there
might be wrong now..."

"That's why you're here," Dantial replied, looking up at her. "So we can
update it! How have you been feeling lately? Any problems I should know
about?"

"No..." Well...maybe. But she was sure that once she was settled here,
everything _else_ in her would settle as well.

Dantial quirked an eyebrow at her hesitant tone. "You don't sound too sure."

She rubbed at the side of her neck. "Well, I've been getting headaches..."

"Headaches, hmmm? I see you're rubbing your neck... does it hurt as well?"

She shrugged a shoulder, one side of her lip curving in a half-smile. "I
just have a crick in it. Slept on it funny, I guess..."

Dantial nodded and made a note. "Just last night, or have you been having
problems sleeping for a while? Because that can cause headaches pretty
easily... especially in someone whose job is as demanding as yours is.
Stress is bad for the body."

Traelyn nodded slowly. "I have been having trouble sleeping...but I
figured I'd start sleeping better after everything has settled a bit
more."

"How long has it been since you got a full night's rest?"

She hesitated. How long _had_ it been? The last night she remembered
sleeping well was before Nyith rose... Shards. "A couple...sevendays,
Dantial."

Dantial stopped writing and looked up at her with a frown. "That's not
good, Traelyn. You're going to run yourself down if you keep that up." He
made another note and then looked back up at her. "From this it looks like
you've been dropping weight as well. Have you been eating regularly?"

"Well, I eat when I'm hungry..."

}:You are not hungry enough most days, Trae,:{ Nyith's loving voice was
fairly disapproving and worried.

Dantial didn't let her sidestep that easily. "And how often are you hungry?"

"Usually during the evenings..."

"Traelyn..." Dantial lifted an eyebrow expectantly. "Surely I don't have
to tell you that this isn't good for you. You look like a very sensible
young woman."

"I know it's not..." Shards.

"Then what are we going to do to change it?" Dantial asked. "Are you not
eating because you don't have the time? Or because you aren't feeling
well?"

"I...I'm not eating as much because...I guess it's because I keep myself
locked in my office most of the day. After drills." When she looked up
at him, her eyes were tired, and her face seemed suddenly drawn. "There's
just so much _work_ to get done, Dantial...so much, and I haven't even
made a dent in the hides yet..."

"And you won't if you collapse from lack of nutrition and exhaustion,"
Dantial pointed out, making another note. "You're the Weyrwoman, Traelyn.
Drudges will bring you food. Surely you can spend a quarter candlemark
eating it."

She inclined her head, knowing that he was right. She _would_ remember...
"You're right."

"Of course I am," Dantial replied with a small smile. "I'm the healer,
after all."
