"Aah, Felyna. Just the lady I was looking for," Corowal greeted with disarming smile and fell into a step with her.
A basket of treats over her arm, Felyna smiled warmly at the Lord Holder. "Good day, Corowal." Her voice was warm and welcoming.
"I've not seen much of you of late; I am pleased you were looking for me. What may I do for you?" Her head tilted toward him and it seemed her steps became somehow more feminine still, her feet barely touching the floor.
"I have two small favours to ask you," Corowal replied with a smile.
"You are aware of the runner races we are hosting?" Of course she would be, everyone was. The whole hold was buzzing about it.
"Of course, my Lord. I've been following all your.. activity..
closely." She smiled up at him, curious at what he could want her to do to help. She needed to make him see her as not only a lovely woman, but indispensable to him. "I am willing to help you any way I am able."
"Good. I thought it would be sweet if my daughter Corolia handed the winning jockey his prize. Could you coach her into it? Teach her what she has to do and act?"
The smile broadened at his request and her eyes widened with pleasure.
"Why, Corowal, I would love to coach your daughter. She's a lovely girl, and I agree, it would be very sweet. Very good of you to think of her." She dared lay a gentle hand on his arm. "You said two favors, yes?"
"I'm glad to hear that. Now, after the races there's a dinner feast for all the important guests. Would you be my dinner partner that night?" Corowal asked solemly.
Felyna's cheeks flushed with pleasure. "I would love to, Corowal."
Her voice was warm - too warm for propriety, really - and she smiled, her hand laying tight against his arm. "Thats not a favor, though.
It would be my pleasure." She said lightly, in a teasing tone.
"You just made a very happy man," Corowal said softly Charmed by him, she took her hand from his arm and kissed her fingertips and then touched his cheek. "I enjoy making you happy, my lord Corowal. I hope that I can always provide that service for you." Her smile was brightening by the minute. Was it going to work? Had she convinced him he could not live without her as his Lady, yet?
"Would you like to go for a walk with me? Or perhaps I could take your daughter? Its a bit cold, but I saw the sun shining a bit between clouds."
"I wish I could go for a walk with you. Unfortunately the preparations are keeping me busy. Perhaps you could take Corolia with.
She likes you and needs a suitable rolemodel," Corowal replied with honest regret.
Cheeks flushed again with pleasure and some embarassment. "Of course, my Lord. I should have known you are far too busy to spend time in idle pursuits like walking with me. But I would very much enjoy taking Corolia. I .. I like her too; I like all of your children.
Perhaps we will practice drawing or some other indoor activity, if the weather does not cooperate."
She smiled up at him, a planned hint of longing in her slightly parted lips. "It is only I think I have missed you..." Then her cheeks flushed brighter, and she shook her head. Forward! But perhaps it was just enough. She hoped it was not _too_ forward. He would want a proper wife, but also one that would enjoy his bed.
She needed him to see her as both.
"Don't feel embarrassed. I'm touched that you are thinking of me,"
Corowal said gently. ** What a woman! She really was something!** he chuckled inwards.
"I do think of you often, Corowal. Much too often to be proper!" She laughed, her cheeks returning to their normal, healthy color. "I will look forward to the races! I do love to watch them. Is Corolia in your chambers? I should be glad to go and get her myself."
"I think she's at the nursery right now," Corowal said and smiled.
Felyna smiled at him and curtsied lightly. "I'll go and get her and bring her back to your rooms later, my Lord." She let go his hand almost reluctantly and straightened her basket. "We'll bring you a pretty drawing for your bedchambers, shall we?"
"That would brighten up my room," Corowal replied with a courteous little bow.
Smiling like a sated feline after their encounter, the young woman turned gracefully away and headed down the hall toward the Nursery.
She _would_ convince him he could not live without her; she would indeed.
