F'lin sauntered into the Infirmary the day after the graduation ceremony with a grin plastered across his face and his new knots sitting prettily on his shoulder, and caught Riven's eye the moment she looked up. "I didn't think M'galec would actually let me fly, but I'm flying with K'sedel now!"

"With K'sedel? Are you serious?" Riveenata couldn't help but smile broadly at her friend. "That's a wonderful honor. Congratulations."

"Thank you! I can't wait... we drilled this morning and I thought it went well. I mean, it always takes you a little while before you get the hang of things, but Seneth and I were feeling pretty good by the time we were done."

"Before you graduate you get some experience drilling with the wings first, right? So it wasn't your first time with them?"

The bronzerider shrugged. "Well, yeah, but it's different now... you know?"

"Now that it's official, you mean?" A quick look around assured her that the other journeymen on duty had it well handled. Satisfied she could break for a moment, she came over and hugged him. "I told you you and Seneth would graduate well. Not even our grumpy Second could deny how well you fly."

"M'galec wouldn't dare!" F'lin proclaimed, feeling emboldened by his new knots and by the woman in his arms. "And now... I can take you anywhere you want to go! I can go anywhere _I_ want to go!"

"Is there anywhere you want to go, now you're free to?" she asked. She'd had friends who couldn't wait to go back to their homes, but she also knew that F'lin's family- at least some of it- hadn't been the most accepting of his decision.

A strange expression crossed F'lin's face - half jubilant, half secretive - and was quickly replaced by a wide grin. "Of course - but I want to wait a bit before I go. Maybe I'll go visit my mother, or my aunt at Dolphin Cove Weyr. There's so many places to be, and so little time!"

It was definitely a trait among new dragonpairs, Riven thought. She'd spent her entire life at River Bluff and never felt confined by it, and yet so many, once Impressed, felt the need to go anywhere and everywhere. Maybe it was just to enjoy flying on your own dragon in peace, not in a situation where you could die. Still, even if she'd never personally felt wanderlust, she could understand why he'd want to show his new lifemate everywhere he could. "I'm sure you'll find time to visit places. Or make time." she said. "You have an aunt at Dolphin Cove?"

"She's a greenrider. And I have an uncle who rides a brown at Far Island Weyr. My mother was the only one of Tsaera's children that didn't Impress, and my father's family are all still at Topaz Sea Hold."

"The only Weyr other than here I've been to is Dolphin Cove, and that was when the Threadfall disaster happened." she admitted. "It sounds like you have several places to visit."

"You could always tag along, you know. Explore the Weyrs or something.
Dolphin Cove is really beautiful."

"I didn't get a chance to see much of anything while I was there." she said ruefully. At the invite to go along, though... "Oh, I'm sure you wouldn't want me along if you're visiting people you know. And there's no guarantee the Weyr's most popular healer won't have duty that day."
she teased.

"Who, Abrei?" F'lin wrinkled his nose. "Why would I want to take _her_
to Dolphin Cove?"

Riven couldn't help but laugh. "I didn't realize you liked older women, F'lin." she replied.

"Ha ha." He stuck his tongue out at her, then remembered his new knots and pretended he hadn't. "I take it back, then. You _can't_ come with me!"
His response just made her laugh more. "It could have been worse, I could have made a joke about your graduation night." she said lightly, after she'd stopped laughing. Inwardly she was relieved he'd gotten off the topic. She hadn't wanted to have to make excuses.

"You know... you're a terrible friend! I have _no_idea_ why I keep seeking you out!" F'lin said, grinning.

"Must be my incredible personality." she answered. "So, what _did_ you do for graduation night?" She couldn't help but wonder. While weyrlings weren't restricted anymore once they could /between/, she knew that many tended to go overboard their first night of freedom. "Didn't do anything not befitting a future Weyrleader, I hope?"

"Me? No... nothing that my grandmother will hear about, anyway!" he said with a wink. There'd been drinking and songs, and an attentive Clutchmate who was pushed aside by a slightly older greenrider who'd wanted to 'break in the new bronzeboy' -- and he certainly hadn't been adverse! "What about you? I didn't see you there."

"I wouldn't want her lecturing me for any reason." Riven joked. She had the highest of respect for Tsaera, but she also respected that angry goldriders were not what one wanted to face. "I was there for the feasting and the music, but I went to bed early. I had a shift that morning."

"Too bad for you. What are you doing tonight? Me and a few of my Clutchmates were going to go have a few beers on the beach after it gets dark... want to come?"

"I don't have anything to do tonight, so sure," she agreed readily.
"Excellent! Come by my weyr around dusk and I'll walk down with you.
Does that sound good?" **Walk... or fly!!** F'lin thought gleefully. He didn't think he'd ever get tired of the idea.

"It sounds perfect." she answered. "Should I dress up any, or is it casual?"

"Only if you want to. But I should go and let you get back to work -
I'll see you at dusk!"

"I'll see you then." she promised.

"Later, then!" F'lin said happily, before giving her one last hug and leaving her to her patients.
