"No you don't," the bronzerider groaned, rolling onto his side and reaching over Trae's body, effectively trapping her before she could slide her leg out of the bed they had shared. "You're not going anywhere, Weyrwoman," he muttered, burying his nose in her hair. It still smelled like fresh sweetsand.

Grinning sleepily, she wrapped her fingers around his arm. "You're supposed to be asleep."

"Actually, I'm supposed to wake up now. Thread today, remember? Or is it tomorrow..." Timezones just confused him in the morning. All he knew was if he left now he just might get almost a full night's sleep in his own bed before the morning briefing. But he didn't want to go. "Shards, I don't want to face the snow. It's so warm here. And you're so soft..." He nuzzled her neck, cursing the Red Star that was at this very moment preparing to unleash another mass of tangled Threads he would have to char.

"It's still tomorrow your time, U'kaiah," she murmured, turning her head to rest it against the top of his. "You don't _have_ to leave just yet, you know." And, shards, now that she thought about it, she didn't want to get up either.

"But you have to get up anyway, so I might as well," he sighed, grudgingly releasing her and rolling back over the other way. With extreme effort of will he threw his legs off the side and sat up on the edge of the bed. He yawned as he stretched his arms wide and was rewarded with an audible pop.
"I'm turning into an old man."

"Old and decrepit," she snorted, propping her head up lazily on her hand to look at him...and admire the broad shoulders and muscular back that he presented to her. "Very old and decrepit. My joints don't yell at me the way yours do."

"But just what are they saying?" he asked, turning briefly to look at her over his shoulder before reaching for the trousers drapped on the back of the chair.

"They're not saying anything. They're 'complaining.'" Traelyn slowly leaned towards him, trailing a finger down his spine. "They want you to lay on the bed and give them a rest." He didn't have to leave for candlemarks yet, really. Carefully she applied gentle pressure to the caress, her lips curving into a smile when he turned his head again to look at her.

"Oh, is _that_ what they want?" he asked with a knowing smile as he lifted his foot to slide into his pant leg. U'kaiah knew her well enough to read the way her lips curled. She knew she was sharding hot when she smiled at a man like that. It was just that easy, and yet so hard to resist. "Are you sure? They might be saying that they need to go for a swim."

She shook her head, dark eyes glinting mischievously up into his as she shifted closer. "No, they definitely want to rest." Her smooth arm slid coyly around his waist. "Don't deny them, U'kaiah. I know you don't want to."

"Hmmm, yes, I don't want to," the bronzerider sighed, leaning back into her as his hand reached up to cover hers. "That's why I'm going home. After all, you need to get up too and get ready for your Weyrwomanly duties." But six days until the next restday was sounding so sharding long...

Her other arm wrapped around him as she bent her head, lips brushing against his ear. "It's a restday," she whispered. "I'm allowed an extra candlemark or so of leisure time in the early morning." Her fingers brushed slowly down his chest as she gently nipped the side of his neck. "Come on. Just another candlemark?"

"But it's not a restday anymore," he murmured, slipping out from her arms so he could stand and pull his pants up over his hips. Turning he gave her a small pout. "Don't look at me like that. I have Thread starting before mid-day." And if she kept looking at him that way he knew she'd get her way with him, and he really shouldn't let her.

She tilted her head, an impish grin on her face. "But that's not for candlemarks yet."

U'kaiah shook his head with a soft chuckle. How could he argue with her when she when she had that look in her eye. He lost, and he lost willingly.
The bronzerider hitched a knee back up onto the mattress. "You know, Traelyn, you are even more persistent than Thread, I swear." He reached for her hand and pulled her towards him.

"Isn't that a good quality for a Weyrwoman?" she asked with a satisfied purr, fitting her body carefully to his.

"It certainly gets you what you want," he murmured, his lips hovering over hers as he ran his fingers lightly down her spine to the small of her back. Her skin was soft and shone almost golden in the soft glow light. "Shards woman, is there anything on Pern as beautiful as you?"

Her smiling eyes flickered to his before she kissed him, deepening the kiss when she felt his hold on her tighten. "You tell me, love."

U'kaiah could think of the perfect answer, but it required no words at all.
