B'ram

B'ram

The night air was balmy as Traelyn and U'kaiah stepped outside, pungent with fragrances of the feast mingling with the brine of the ocean. Dragons lined the ridges that jutted to the heavens, their eyes glowing in the darkness like rainbow-hued stars. Swiftly she led the bronzerider across the grass towards the entrance to the Hatching Grounds. It would be quicker going this way than taking the labyrinth of caverns and corridors to her weyr. And she wanted to take the quickest route possible. She wanted to be alone--truly alone--with U'kaiah, and she knew he felt the same way. His breathing was becoming a little harsh, and she knew hers was just as raspy. No words passed between them, but the heated, yearning looks they traded with each other spoke volumes.

As they reached the mouth of the entrance, the warm air off the Sands enveloped them. U'kaiah decided they were sheltered enough from curious eyes. They needn't walk any fruther, and he couldn't wait any longer. With an almost exasperated groan he spun her around and backed her up against the heated stone arch. Planting a hand possessively on either side of her he leaned in and kissed her the way he had wanted to all sharding night.

Her lips opened pliantly beneath his, and she closed her eyes for a shining moment, letting herself bask in his ardor. The sexual awareness between them was stretched so taut now that Traelyn was sure if they continued kissing like this it would snap any second. It would happen too fast if they gave in now. Shards, she wanted to draw it out at least a little, like a queen drew her chases out, flying high and far.

It almost killed her to pull away from his lips, and his expression was one of hazy confusion when their eyes met. Her own gleamed playfully up into his as she ducked out beneath his arm, carefully walking backward, her chin raised, her expression teasing, goading. **Come chase me,** she called silently, fingering the laces of her bodice. **Come on.**

The bronzerider pushed himself off from the wall, his eyes burning as hot as the sweltering sands that shimmered like a sheen of water in the background. He took slow steps towards her, knowing she was just taunting him, urging him on. But this time he knew she might might run from him, but he would catch her in the end. His legs were longer, so matching her stride for stride, it wasn't hard to catch up to her once more as she reached the base of the stone stairs leading up into the Stands. Reaching out, he trapped her once more between his body and the side of the stone staircase, locking his lips on the side of her neck and caressing teasingly around to her throat.

Moaning softly, her head fell back to expose even more skin for him to taste. Her hands reached up to grasp his hair, urging him closer, their bodies pressing even tighter together, their hips aligned once more, but closer, closer, as if there weren't layers of Gather finery separating them. And shards, how she wished there weren't!

When she felt him shift, felt his teeth nipping low on her chest, she raised her head to look down at him. One hand released his hair and she pressed it to the side of his cheek, panting, desire coursing through her as she turned his face up to hers.

His gaze met her smoky grey eyes. He murmured her name, so low and deep it almost sounded like a rumble, before leaning up to claim her lips once more. U'kaiah didn't want to rush it, but shards how long could he really prolong it with eyes like that, calling to him, pleading with him.

Her thumb rubbed along his jawline, thoughts awhirl with the way he'd said her name. He'd never said her name like that before. Never. Not even during their most passionate moments at Dragonsfall. And it sent shivers up her spine, made her legs feel wobbly, made her feel grateful that his body was supporting her against the rough stone of the staircase. One hand slipped beneath his tunic, touching the bare, hot flesh of his back. Then his fingers began to trace the low neckline of her dress, lingering tantalizingly on the now-loose laces of her bodice. "Not here," she breathed as their lips parted slightly. She grinned a little against his mouth. "Somewhere...somewhere smoother."

Such an interesting choice of words. U'kaiah was thinking of all sorts of smooth places, but they were all on the goldrider's body. Still breathing hard through his parted lips he nodded silently. He didn't care where they went, as long as it was close by.

Her weyr was too far now. Traelyn just couldn't wait that long, not even for a soft bed. And she knew U'kaiah couldn't wait either, not with that particular expression on his face, that particular gleam in his eyes. Wordlessly she took his hand, pulling him further up the stairs to a row of Stands hidden mostly by shadows. The stone was smoother here. Much smoother. Then she turned, murmuring his name, arms wrapping around him, both hands slipping inside of his tunic to caress his back, fully encouraging him now.

U'kaiah's fingers almost trembled with urgency as he unbuttoned his formal jacket and shrugged out of it as her fingers reached for the fastening on his dress trousers. Balling the jacket, he gently placed it under her head as he lowered her to the cold stone bench, her legs wrapping around his hips to pull him down with her.

The goldrider had made her choice and their triumphant cries reverberated through the cavernous Grounds.

It proved almost deafening to the loser who stood in the massive stone arch they had so recently passed through, his eyes fixed on the Stands and the newly joined pair. "You always had a thing for bronzeriders," B'ram whispered, his fingers curling into fists as he leaned against the massive stone wall and watched the lovers oblivious to all else but each other. "It runs in your family..."

The brownrider flinched as she moaned a name that wasn't his. He could stand it when it was L'kub, but not this sharding prick who had known her a fraction of her life. B'ram could just bet the sweat was breaking out across her lover's brow, that her nails were digging into his back, that her head was thrashing from side to side as she cried his name. And he could just bet that sharding ignorant bronzerider hadn't a clue that the night before it had been _his_ back she kneaded, _his_ name she moaned!

It was too much. Too much to just sit back and accept like a dragon who loses a Flight. "This time _I_ was there first!" he growled as his burning stare was fixed on the bronzerider's back. A sneer curled his lips as the echo finally died to a faint whisper and the goldrider tenderly cradled U'kaiah's head to chest, her fingers curled into his damp, black curls. It just so happened to be the exact same spot B'ram had rested his head not even a full day before. As the fire of their passion cooled, so did the burning of the brownrider's anger. It was replaced instead with a coldness that could freeze /between/. **I will not be second again, Trae. This bronzerider of yours... He will just have to go.**
