Description: C'lor assists Jyramikah with the bathing of her gold
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 3, day 28 of Turn 4
Jyramikah had been hoping to sleep in, but her gold had other plans that included her getting wet. So the morning sun found the goldrider on the beach with her son in tow as they prepared to wash the gold who was already in the water flirting with the males.
C'lor spotted the goldrider and her son heading their way and decided he would offer his assistance in bathing the gold. Hayreith had already been bathed and was having fun splashing with the gold. "Good morning Jyramikah!" he called as they neared him.
"Hello C'lor!" Jyrakon said as he took off in a run towards the young bronzerider. He liked talking with the young rider. He wasn't that much younger than C'lor and hoped that he would Impress one day.
Jyramikah laughed as her son took off. She was glad that he had taken an interest in some of the young men as he had no real father figure other than his uncle. "Good morning to you, rider." she replied with a smile.
Jyrakon turned towards his mother and asked, "Can he help us wash Ikoladith?"
"Are you sure he wants to help bathe a massive gold when I'm sure he was just bathing his own bronze?"
C'lor nodded and replied, "I would be honored to assist in bathing such a pretty gold, Jyra."
"If you're sure, I'm not going to turn down an offer of assistance as there is a lot of her to bathe." Jyramikah replied as she motioned for the gold to come back towards the shore.
**You stay clean, Hayreith.** C'lor told his bronze who was heading back to shore as well.
}:I will. You need to scrub nicely not like you do when you scrub me.:{ the bronze reminded his rider.
**Scrub nicely? Do I not scrub you nice enough?**
}:Sometimes it is too hard and sometimes too soft.:{
**Go sun yourself, you silly wherry.** C'lor replied with a shake of his head.
The three of them were able to bathe the gold a lot quicker than it would have been if just Jyramikah had been bathing her. "Thank you both for your help. How ever can I repay you?" she asked with a smile. She knew her son's answer would be a bubbly pie or a ride on her dragon.
Jyrakon thought a moment and asked, "Can I have a ride on Hayreith?"
The goldrider looked to C'lor and let him answer. That hadn't been what she had thought it would be.
"Sure as long as it's okay with your mama." the bronzerider said putting the answer back into the goldrider's hands. He would love to give the young boy a ride, but only if it was okay with the goldrider.
"I don't mind, but you have to wear riding gear and listen to what C'lor says." she said watching her son's face light up at the prospect of a ride and then fade at the requirements.
"Why do I have to wear riding gear?" the young boy whined.
"Don't we always wear riding gear?" C'lor asked pointedly.
"Yea, but I'm not a rider. I'm the passenger. Passengers don't have to wear riding gear." he argued.
"What if you're the rider and I'm the passenger?" C'lor suggested.
"That won't work cause I can't talk to Hayreith." Jyrakon said as he warmed to idea. He thought a moment and continued, "What if I wear a riding helmet and gloves, but not the whole suit?"
Jyramikah nodded, "That's fine. Why don't you go get them and we'll meet you in the weyrbowl?"
As they watched the boy run off, C'lor shook his head. "I never would have come up with the passenger arguement. He's good at that stuff, isn't he?"
"He's always got an answer for why he shouldn't have to do something. You're sure you are okay with taking him for a ride on Hayreith?"
"I don't mind. It gives us some practice for when I have kids of my own someday."
"I think that you would make a great father because you are really good with them. You're a good rider as well, just so you know." she said as they made their way back to the Weyr.
