Description: Ar'lis and Lenala are both feeling a bit on edge... and so is a certain gold dragon who is about to rise.
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 4, day 4 of Turn 4
Notes: Notes: A little birdie told me that female candidates might be in great demand in a few months at River Bluff Weyr. Not that I'm saying anything, because of course, it's just what the little birdie said... but that little birdie likes shiny colors. Take from this what you will!
Lenala sighed as she slumped onto her couch and kicked off her shoes. "I
hope you haven't been waiting long," she told Ar'lis apologetically.
"Vilarth is in a mood and my hidework took forever..." She rubbed at the
back of her neck and her right shoulder, trying to find the knot that was
causing so much pain.
"Don't worry about it, Lenala," he smiled, eying the way she rotated her
shoulders and neck. "There was a lot of reading material to keep me
occupied and not get into _too_ much mischief." His tone teased her as he
moved a little closer, hand reaching up to still hers. "Want me to
massage that knot out for you?"
She hesitated for a moment before unlacing her tunic and pulling it over
her head, leaving just her thin undershirt. "That would be wonderful." And
she knew she could trust Ar'lis not to push it past a massage unless she
wanted him to. Everyone might think that she'd replaced M'galec with
Ar'lis, but she knew the truth. She'd spent enough time bouncing from man
to man--this time she was going to find her own feet first.
Rubbing his hands to warm them, the bronzerider shifted into a more
comfortable position before his fingers began to rub and soothe. He'd
pretended not to notice her hesitation, but he'd seen that flash
of...something in her eyes. Caressing a few tendrils of soft hair out of
the way, he proceeded to massage her neck. Shards, he wished she wouldn't
be so hesitant with him. Oh, it was true, she didn't do it often, but
when she did... "Vilarth isn't the only dragon in a mood today. Zylarth
has been pretty prickly ever since lunch."
"I hope Vilarth's not getting proddy," Lenala said suddenly, the muscles
in her neck tensing again. "I know it's bound to happen sooner rather than
later, but not while my neck feels like it will break if I turn my head
too fast."
"By the time I'm done with you, your neck won't feel like it'll break, I
promise." Shards, but her skin was soft... **Don't push it, Ar'lis.**
His hands moved down to her shoulders. "Are you nervous about it?" he
asked quietly.
"A little..." She reached out to Vilarth, but the gold was sleeping. His
hands felt wonderfully soothing on her shoulders, as she moaned a little
as his thumbs found one of the worst knots. "Oh, that right there..."
He applied a more generous amount of pressure to the spot, doing his best
to ignore the feelings that little sexy moan brought out in him. "How's
that?" he asked, his voice a bit rougher than he would have liked it to
be. He grit his teeth. Shards! He was a lot better than _this_ when it
came to locking it down. What was his deal today?
Lenala didn't seem to notice, far more fixated on the feeling of her
muscles slowly relaxing. "It's wonderful," she replied in a throaty voice
that was far more suited to the bedroom.
His lip curled in a silent snarl of slightly aroused frustration and he
forced his hands to still over her skin before they wandered to places
where he knew they shouldn't go.
"Ar'lis?" Her voice sounded breathless. "Do you think--"
Before he knew it, his arms were carefully sliding around her slender body
in response to that breathless reply, bringing her very close up against
him. The tip of his nose brushed her hair, and he inhaled, breathing in
her scent. Shards...he was hardly able to sharding think past physical
sensation. "What?" he asked gruffly, tongue flicking out to taste the
tender flesh at the side of her neck.
"Oh, shards..." It had never felt quite like this before, but she knew
what was happening now. Any moment Vilarth would wake, and then...
"Ar'lis," she gasped, even as her body pressed back against his. "We
can't. We can't--"
His fingers curled possessively around her hips. "She's gonna rise, isn't
she? Right now."
"Soon." A shudder went through Lenala as Vilarth woke, her hunger so
intense it made Lenala gasp. She broke free of Ar'lis' arms and staggered
toward the weyrledge. "Now."
