Teseada

Teseada

Kiala sat next to the lake, relaxing for a few moments. It had been a busy
day with the beasts. She looked around, trying to see who was out here that
she could talk to. She noticed Teseada a ways down the shoreline. She
boosted herself off the rock she was sitting on and walked over.

"Hello Teseada, how are you and Onnyth doing?"

"Good. You?" The young goldrider grinned. Kiala had been at the weyr long
enough that the two had been candidates together, standing out there on the
sands a few times. As yet, Kiala hadn't been lucky, but Teseada remained
quietly hopeful that someday soon she'd find her match out there.

"Fairly well. Keeping busy with various beast injuries," Kiala replied. It
still amazed Kiala how many riders she knew from standing out there with
them. "Have you done anything new or interesting lately?"

"Apart from avoiding Y'nub?" She supposed her broken relationship with the
bronzerider had been gossip for the past few sevendays at least. "Karri's
been keeping me company."

"Yes, I heard about all that. I'm sorry you had to go through all that, but
I'm glad Karri was there to help you through it all," Kiala replied. "You
seem to be handling it fairly well."

"He's a rotten tunnelsnake, but the best thing I can do is carry on, if he
thinks he's got to me, he's won. You know what I mean?"

"Yeah I think you've been handling it fine. That was such a horrible thing
to do to you. I'm sure Onnyth helped you through it all though. It's
amazing how comforting that presence can be, from what I've heard."

"I don't know what I'd have done without her."

"Well, hopefully someday I might just understand what you mean." Kiala still
hoped fervently that there was a lifemate out there waiting for her, but she
also knew that it might not be and had to accept that fact. "You know, I
haven't seen Onnyth in a while. The next time you give her a bath and need
help, let me know. I'd gladly give you a hand."

"She'll appreciate the attention. She can be a bit of an attention seeker at
times." Teseada grinned. "You come and help me, and one day soon I'm sure
I'll return the favour for you."

"I sure hope so! From what I've heard, aren't most golds attention seekers?
Not that they don't earn it though, that's for sure," Kiala replied and
grinned back.

"She earns it for sure." Teseada grinned. "So I'll see you later then?"

"Sounds like a plan! I look forward to it," Kiala said and stretched. "Well,
I suppose I should go see what chores are waiting for me. See you!"
