The fingers she had dug into the muscles of his back slowly relaxed as a long, throaty sigh escaped her lips. It was over. That realization was bitter-sweet. It had been so intense and passionate, part of her didn't want it to stop! But now she felt so warm and relaxed - tension she never even know she carried melted away. Her fingers slipped into his hair as she turned her head to softly kiss his temple and forehead, feeling the little beads of perspiration under her lips. T'voal was a delicious weight on top of her and she didn't want him to move. Not just yet.
After a few moments T'voal sighed softly and started to shift to the side. Even knowing Gaiya was not an innocent holdbred girl, he couldn't help the sudden worry that he might have hurt her somehow. "Are you all right?"
She smiled softly, tracing his cheek with the tip of a finger. "Much better than all right, T'voal."
Her words let him relax, and he leaned down to kiss her forehead lightly. "I'm glad. For a moment there I didn't even think we were going to make it to the bed."
Gaiya chuckled softly and leaned up to kiss his lips. "I doubt either of us would have minded."
The idea made heat flood his body. "Shards, Gaiya. You shouldn't say things like that. You're going to make me hurt myself."
A slight blush crept up into her cheeks as her eyes dropped down to look at his collarbone. "I'm not exactly what you thought I was, am I."
T'voal frowned and used a finger to tilt her face up so she had to meet his eyes again. "What do you mean? You're everything I thought you were, Gaiya." **And that's the problem...**
"I'm not exactly a sweet, innocent girl." **I'm not like Shayla...**
"I didn't think you were, sweetheart." He leaned down to kiss her again.
"I like you just the way you are."
Which was equally dangerous. "Is that why you called my name?" she asked, watching her finger as it traced an indefinable pattern across his chest so she didn't have to look him in the eye.
T'voal sighed and rested his forehead against the top of her head. "Oh, Gaiya. We're in a little bit of trouble, aren't we?"
She snuggled into him, letting him hold her. His words both shamed and thrilled her. He was Shayla's weyrmate! But he was also everything she needed... What was a girl to do?
For a long time he simply held her, trying to untangle his feelings.
Every which way he turned, it always led him back to the truth: he loved Shayla. And in spite of that fact, there was something about Gaiya that he couldn't resist. And Shayla would never understand. He sighed and kissed the top of her head again. "I don't know what to say, Gaiya. Shayla... she isn't weyrbred. She doesn't understand the way the Weyr is, still. And she gets so hurt..." "I know," she said, cutting him off. Gaiya really didn't want to hear about Shayla. It just reminded her that he was completely unavailable to her. Well, perhaps not _completely_... "But you could come to me sometimes? Like you did today? She can't blame us for this..."
Just the thought of it made his blood heat. He could have them both. He could have everything. And U'val would spontaneously recover just to beat him into the ground for even _considering_ using Gaiya in such a fashion. "That's not fair to you, Gaiya. I can't just use you like this."
**But it's better than nothing...** He was right of course. It wasn't fair to either of them. Perhaps in the moment it would seem so right, but when he went back to his weyrmate... her _friend_... Shards, she didn't want to think about it anymore! As her lips pressed soft kisses along his throat, her fingernails lightly trailed down his spine. She just wanted to enjoy the time they still had. "Gaiya... Gaiya." His hands came up to cup her cheeks, holding her face so he could look at her. "This isn't right. You deserve better than this."
She reached up to cover his hand with hers. "Please, just kiss me T'voal. I'm not asking you for anything more than that."
The eyes staring up at him... shards, nothing had ever gotten to him so much as being needed. He couldn't quite stop himself from kissing her, or from letting the kiss go from gentle and soft to fast and passionate.
Not when she needed him.
