Description: T'voal makes a somewhat questionable decision when he loses his weyrmate's flight.
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 3, day 1 of Turn 4
T'voal stumbled away from the sight of J'lai sinking his hands into Shayla's hair, lust battling with rage. Of all the men in the Weyr... of _all_ the sharding men to put their hands on his weyrmate... **U'val wasn't this bad...**
He ignored the inviting looks of the usual women who crowded around the flights, not wanting a nameless face. Not when J'lai was pulling Shayla towards a bed, taking her clothes off, _stealing her_ from him. He wanted to reclaim her, but that was impossible. And there was no one else--
His eyes fell on Gaiya, and he nearly trampled the drudge in front of him as he switched directions without thinking. She was someone he wanted almost as much as Shayla, and someone he couldn't have. Not usually. Not if he wanted his relationship to survive. But there she was, beautiful and sweet and not timid or innocent like Shayla was. And no one blamed a man for who he happened to fall into bed with when flightlust was upon him...
Gaiya turned when she heard someone call her name, stopping with one hand on the great stone arch that surrounded the entrance to the Weyr. She smiled when she saw who had called her name. "T'voal! What are you doing out here..." She had noticed the group gathered around a young green as she had strolled back to the Weyr, but had paid no attention to it. It was a common sight. But the look in his eyes as he came closer, that hungry, almost feral look, said volumes. T'voal had been in the crowd. He lost. And he saw _her_... Her heart skipped a beat as she looked at him, knowing exactly what he wanted from her. **It's just dragonlust... Shayla can't blame him for that... or you...** She reached out for his hand. "My weyr is closer," she whispered, gently pulling him into dimly lit corridor.
He had to struggle not to groan in relief as he followed her. He wasn't sure what made him hesitate at the door to her weyr and reach up to cradle her face. "Are you sure?" he asked intently, watching her eyes.
"You don't have to, Gaiya. I don't want to--to use you--" Oh, but he did. It shamed him how badly he wanted her, and not just because he was fond of her. It was the way she looked at him, as if he was the strong, wise man he wanted to be. It was irresistible. "I wasn't holdbred, T'voal," she assured him, reaching up to take his hand once more. "I know what I'm doing. Come inside."
It was exactly what he wanted to hear. She wasn't holdbred. She knew what she was doing. He wasn't going to scare her.
He slammed the door behind him and caught Gaiya by the waist, swinging her around until her back was up against the door. Then he kissed her, giving in to his need. Shards, it had been a long time since a man had wanted her this much, and Gaiya reveled in the attention. It didn't matter that it was dragonlust, all that mattered was that he came to _her_. He wanted her. And shards, but she wanted him too. Her fingers dug into his hair as she kissed him with equal fervor, pulling back just long enough to whisper his name before initiating another passionate kiss. Passion was something that had been sorely missing in her life as of late.
And passion was something T'voal had more than enough of. He abandoned himself to it, ignoring the tiny voice that warned him that not all of his passion was inspired by the lost flight. He had an excuse not even Shayla could argue with this time. And next time... T'voal groaned against her skin as he realized the truth. There was going to be a next time. He wanted it.
He _needed_ it.
