"Hey Honalyse," B'lamick said in greeting as he came up to her side, "I'm done oiling Latarth, do you need any help?" "Nope," his friend smiled up at him. "There's not quite as much hide on Tibith. I've been done for a while. I'm just scratching imaginary itches now."

}:It just feels so good,:{ her little green hummed as she leaned into her rider's hand even more. }:Latarth's can scratch my shoulder if he likes, though.:{ "I think Tibith believes she is a queen to be doted on," Honalyse grinned. "She wants you to scratch her shoulder."

B'lamick did as he was told, "My pleasure, do I have the spot?" Latarth trotted over to where the three were standing and butted B'lamick in the back. }: If you are going to scratch Tibith, _she_
should scratch me. :{ He looked up at Honalyse and grinned, "Latarth is feeling left out I do believe. He feels you should scratch him since I am doing my duty to Tibith." "Oh, he's a bronze all right," Honalyse said with an amused roll of her eyes. "I've heard people say that a dragon's personality often matches their riders," B'lamick replied as he gave Tibith a final pat before dropping his hand, "but he's very different than me, or at least what I perceive to be like me." "Well, I don't know about that saying. I mean, Tibith is nothing like me." She reached out to scratch the young bronze's eyeridge with one hand while still rubbing her green's snout with the other. "I mean, Tibith is just so caring and loving. I don't think I'm like her."

He was momentarily shocked that she didn't consider herself caring or loving, but maybe she just misspoke. "I think you're very caring and lovely... I mean loving. Look at how you care for Tibith." "Well, yes, but that's Tibith. I mean... How could I _not_ love her?" "Yeah, I never thought I could love anyone so much in my whole life as I do Latarth." B'lamick exclaimed as he playfully reached over to pat his bronze on his side. "You didn't dream of being a dragonrider?" Honalyse knew she always had. Being found on Search was a dream come true!

B'lamick nodded, then explained. "What kid _didn't_ dream of being a dragonrider? But when it came time to apprentice I knew I wanted healing. Dragonriding sort of just became a childhood fantasy. It wasn't until I'poro was Searched that I started to seriously want it again." "You and I'poro seem to be such good friends," Honalyse smiled. "I envy you."

"Yeah well, we've had our ups and downs," he said, her smile triggering a smile of his own. "But we're kind of like brothers, always there for each other." She thought about it a moment before quietly asking, "So did you know? That he'd Impress blue?"

B'lamick shook his head. "Me? Not a clue. I guess that could maybe be classed as one of our little down times, but we talked it out so now we're up again." He again wondered how "just friends" they really were. Just because Io was blue didn't mean that he and Honalyse couldn't have been together, and if Io was willing to gloss over his _other_ relationships, what made her any different. Especially if Io thought it was something he wouldn't like to hear.

"Just... how _blue_ is he?" she asked curiously. If they had talked, then he might know which way their friend leaned. It was still possible he preferred girls, or that he at least liked _both_. But there was also a possibility she had no chance. Not that she really had much chance before...

B'lamick blushed slightly and turned his head away towards his dragon. "Blue is blue isn't it? I didn't really ask for details." he said awkwardly. "Well," Honalyse shrugged with a slightly uncertain smile, realizing she might have touched on a confusing subject, "it's not green at least."

B'lamick wasn't quite sure blue was better than green. As it was Io not only liked being with men, but he was also still in the position to keep Honalyse from ever noticing that there was a great guy right in front of her. "Since you're done, do you want to walk with me to breakfast?" "Sure," she smiled, wiping hers hands on her rag. "Can we stop by the barracks first?"

"Of course" he said with a smile. It just meant more time he got to spend with her.
