"Well, my dear master healer," Corowal handed him a cup of steaming klah, "how is your patient, our dear
lord holder?" The steward knew he had spent the last few sevendays closed in with Enrizial.
The young mindhealer took the klah greatfully. "I'll tell you this Steward, he is a troubled man." He
sipped the klah as he took out his notebook. "I'd like to read you a few excerpts from my log before I
give my diagnosis. I think you'll find some of this shocking."
"Go ahead," Corowal urged, his words waking up his curiosity.
Vinor sat up in his chair a little more, pushing half-rimmed spectacle further up his short nose. "Lets see here... Ah here we are. This is taken from my first session with him. 'He seems to be at his most sane at this moment. He recognizes me and answers my questions. I haven't mentioned I'm a healer, I feel it will help him open up to me more..."
He rifled through her pages. "This one was taken yesterday morning: 'I entered this morning to find all the shutters closed on his windows. He was in a corner, petting a brown firelizard roughly. I felt sorry for the creature, to have such a troubled owner. When I asked him if he was alright, he had trouble connecting his words together. And sounded scared. I found this odd, for in his earlier sessions he was quite arrogant.'"
"I have one other of interest. 'I came back from the afternoon meal to find him throwing things he could grab at his drudge. He wouldn't let anyone near him, and when I tried to calm him down; he kept looking around and yelling at no one in particular, like he was hearing voices.'"
He looked up at him. "It would seem you dear Lord Holder is dealing with personal trauma. His early life has been garbled. Do stress at a young age, lack of familial support, loss of family, its all added together to, 'unravel his spools,' if you will." He looked at the Steward.
"Corowal, I'm afraid your Lord Holder will never be able to assume his proper rank and title again. He
has lost all sense of reality with this mix of stress, depression and guilt. He feels he will not live up to
his father, failed his Hold and family, and lost his wife." He looked at the Steward. "I'm sorry."
"Poor Enrizial, " Corowal sighed. He felt genuine pity for his young cousin. "What do you recommend we should
do with him?" He asked, his mind already swirling with options. He needed to gather a conclave of Lord
Holders - to replace Enrizial. With him if possible.
"He would cause the least amount of problems if he was left alone. Moving him to a mindhealer hall could be
difficult, not impossible, just messy. But I feel it's the best thing for him." He gave Corowal a weak smile.
Corowal wasn't so sure he wanted crazy ex-lord holder out of his sight. "Or maybe some cothold?" he suggested
hopefully.
Vinor thought for a moment. "Well I feel that constant watch at a mindhealer hall would be the best thing for him. You don't want to find out in three months that he jumped off the roof and killed himself." He coughed politely into his hand. "It wouldn't be good to not keep his family posted, or yourself for that matter, so I'll make sure the Hall keeps you informed."
"Right," Corowal smiled. **There goes that idea...**
Vinor smiled back. "I'm sorry that it had to happen this way. And if we're finished, I have a wife to
return to, and patients to check up on." He stood from his chair.
"Of course. Thank you for your help, master Vinor. It was pleasure to have you here," Corowal said.
Vinor offered the Steward his hand. "If you need me to speak to the Conclave, or anyone for that matter,
don't hesitate to send me a message, I can be here in a blink, or send on an official notice."
"I keep that in mind," Corowal promised.
