Cinale

Cinale

It was the first time she'd ever set foot in the cot--_their_ cot. Daigoro had made her wait, and wait...and wait. And during that seemingly endless waiting, he'd given her one vague, manly excuse after another about why she couldn't come in yet. But she knew the real reason. A knowing grin twitched at her lips as she hugged his arm against her.

What a romantic he was...wanting her to cross the threshold when they were man and wife.

The Hallsecond's heart was thumping in his chest. He was sure any moment it would burst from a cocktail of emotions - burst from happiness, from love, from nervousness, anticipation... Daigoro released her arm and intertwined his fingers in hers as he lead his bride up the steps to their new home. "I hope you like it, my love," he said as he opened the door for her.

Her blue eyes were huge as she stepped inside, a wide smile lighting her face. "You really have been busy in here, haven't you?" she asked, taking in all the details he'd been adding since the first sevenday he moved in, no doubt. "Faranth, love... The furniture is gorgeous."

"Do you like it?" he asked with a pleased grin. "Your girls helped me."
Daigoro had been rather lost when it came to that sort of thing. They seemed all too eager to lend a hand. They all wanted to do something for Cinale after all she'd been doing for them since the quake.

Her smile softened at the mention of her girls. "How sweet of them." Then she slanted him a teasing look. "And I'm sure you were bombarded with all _kinds_ of decorating information, weren't you?"

"Well, I left most of it up to them, really. I have been a bit busy," and he probably would have picked something she considered hideous, or at least comical. "So this is the living are, and the kitchen and dinning area is there. Off the living area is an office," he said with a wave. His eyes softened as he looked down at her. "The sleeping rooms are upstairs."

Her heart gave a little flip-flop as she looked back at him. A slow blush crept up her neck as her thoughts suddenly turned to what would be the more...intimate part of the evening. Shyly she glanced down, brushing her cheek against his shoulder. "I'd like to see them."

"This way," he said as he lead her towards the steps. Shards, he had been waiting for this moment for so long. He wasn't sure if he wanted to run up the stairs or run just away.

Cinale made the decision for him. Faranth--when had they gotten so solemn? Setting aside her growing anticipation and nervousness, she took the first step. Once they both reached the top, she took his hands in hers, she gave him an impishly loving grin before leaning in close to kiss him. It was a gentle brushing of the lips, sweet.

"Our room his this way," he murmured with a smile when their lips parted. "You must be as tired as I am."

She blushed.

Daigoro took her hand, hoping he was hiding his nervousness well as he lead her towards the door closest to them. "This is it," he said as he opened the door for her. "It's not much yet, but..."

A pleased smile lit her eyes as she looked around the room. It was sweet--quaint to be sure. But it fit him, and it fit her.... Her eyes went from the wooden dresser--and the vase of fresh flowers--to linger on the bed. Already she could imagine herself sewing a quilt to lay over the top...and perhaps sew that same pattern on the pillows decorating the rocking chair in the corner there... "It's lovely, Daigoro," she murmured, squeezing his hand.

"Well, the things you gave the girls to bring over are in the closet there, and the bathing chamber is through that door. So..." He looked at her with a hint of uncertainty. "Should we get ready for bed then?"

Her eyes flickered to his, and in seeing his expression, the nerves she'd firmly pushed down before now came rushing back. "Oh, um...y-yes. Yes."
**Great, Cinale. Stammering like a young girl...** She hastily cleared her thoat. "Should I change....in here?" Not that she'd stay in her nightgown for long. The color in her cheeks deepend.

"Oh, well..." Perhaps it would be a bit... uncomfortable for her to change in front of him. "Why don't I go brush my teeth in the bathing chamber and I'll change in there. And you can do... what you need to do."

"Okay," she murmured, waiting until the door to the bathing chamber was shut before slipping out of her dress. After throwing on her shift--and not even bothering with the laces, her hands were shaking too much suddenly for her to get them tied anyhow--the cook seated herself at the vanity.

Cinale stared at her reflection--wide, blue eyes gazing out back at her from a milk-pale face with reddened cheeks. Biting back a nervous smile, she began unplaiting her long, red hair, petals from the flowers that had adorned her brow earlier falling from the strands as her fingers worked. Shards...it had been a beautiful wreath. Hopefully it would last just a little longer... She had just reached for the brush when she heard the door to the bathing room open.

Daigoro had taken his time in the bathing chamber, debating with himself as he brushed his teeth as to whether or not he would wear his sleeping tunic, or just the trousers. She had seen him without a shirt before, but still as he looked at himself in the mirror, he couldn't mistake the slightly rounded gut that in his youth and been a bit flatter and firmer. It had noticable improved since the earthquake, but still... He truly wanted to make a good impression on her, and _that_ would not be it. But what could he do now? He wasn't about to put it off until he had the perfect body. With a sigh he left his sleeping tunic on its hanger on the back of the door and walked out into their bedroom, only slightly self conscious standing there without a shirt.

But that was forgotten as he looked at her in her reflection in the mirror. Daigoro could see the same nervousness in her as she sat looking at herself in the vanity. Of course there was no reason for her to worry.
She was beautiful, and she looked so young with those pink cheeks and wide blue eyes. Taking a deep, fortifying breath he walked towards her, their eyes meeting almost shyly in their reflections.

As he approached, she offered him a soft smile. Hoping to work out her lingering nerves, she kept on brushing out her hair in silence, unable to tear her eyes away from him. The color in her cheeks deepened slightly as she realized he wasn't wearing a shirt. It was ridiculous. She'd seen him without one before! And tonight, she would be seeing a lot more... So _why_ was she blushing at this insignifcant little detail?

Her fingers began to shake again. Not wanting him to see just how nervous she really was, Cinale set the brush down on the vanity as casually as she could, then clasped her hands tightly in her lap.

He knew he well enough to know what she was feeling. Daigoro wanted to reassure her, to tell her that she was perfect, that everything would be all right, that he was feeling it too... But he wasn't sure he could say it in words. Instead he just gave her an understanding smile in the mirror and rested his hands on her shoulders.

"Faranth, hon..." she murmured, brushing her cheek down his arm to his hand. Then she did it again, but this time, she pressed a gentle kiss to his skin. The contact sent a thrill through her, and she shivered a little, eyes flickering to his in the mirror. Daigoro was feeling it too, she realized. The nervousness...and the desire. But he wasn't making any move to coax her to bed... A loving smile curved her lips. He'd be a gentleman to the last. Perhaps...perhaps he needed more than a look of reassurance from her...

Slowly she rose to her feet, taking his hands in hers. Without a word she lead him to the edge of the bed, then perched there, looking up at him with shy, trusting eyes.

He sat down beside her on the edge of the bed and looked down at their interlaced fingers. His brow furrowed thoughtfully. "Cinale, there's something... I think I should tell you..." Shards, it was so hard to admit, even to her. But she had to know...

Her heart gave an anxious bump, but she kept her voice soft. "What is it?"

Daigoro took a deep breath and let it out slowly. "I thought you should know that I... have never... _been_ with a woman before. So if things aren't... perfect for you tonight..."

Gently she rested her hands over his as, inside, her heart sang. She had always assumed he had, but now she realized that she'd been a foolish woman to do so. Shards--she had always known he was a gentleman. And he kept on proving that to her in every little thing that he did. Cinale was glad he'd never been with another. No, more than glad. Happy. He would be hers.
Totally and completely hers. They would figure out things together, and that was so much more important to her than a perfect night of loving.

Smiling, she reached up to caress his cheek. "It's all right," she whispered softly, leaning in close. "It's all right."

His lips curled into a soft smile of relief and gratitude. She knew his inexperience now, and yet the same look of loving trust shone in her eyes.
"Whatever happens tonight, Cinale, I want you to know that I love you, and one of these days I will get it right."
