Making up is... easy to do?

Description: Maiz and T'nac make up after their fight.
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 13, day 20 of Turn 3

Maiz did _not_ want to meet with T'nac. But she had promised, hadn't she? She had said it with the only thought in her head of leaving that morning, not with consideration that she wouldn't want to talk later on either. Still, a promise was a promise, so she sat and waited for the bronzerider to come to her weyr.

T'nac took a deep breath as he stood on Maiz's ledge, reaching out to touch Sikasanth for comfort. **We can fix this...** Finally he peeked his head inside. "Maiz? Can I come in?"

"Yes," the greenrider agreed. She sat rather stiffly, staring at her hands in her lap.

He walked in and sat down on the chair across from her. "So... We didn't really start out the day right, did we," T'nac said with a small smile.

Maiz nervously pushed her hair back from her face.
"No, I suppose we didn't. And its entirely my fault.
I'm sorry."

"Well... What is it? What happened to set you off like that?" There had to have been _something_... He didn't _do_ anything...

She shrugged. "I don't know exactly. I was tired, and I wanted some time alone, and I didn't want to hurt your feelings, but then I did anyway..." "You know, you could have just told me. It's ok if you want to be alone." As much as he enjoyed spending time with her, he knew everyone could use space sometimes. "I didn't want you to get mad at me."

"Listen," he said softly, reaching out to lay his hand over hers. "I don't mind if you need time away from me. Sometimes we just... need that space. I would rather give you that then make you feel trapped, like you _have_ to be with me."

"I like being with you," Maiz told him. "Just sometimes I like having time to myself. I don't know how to tell you that without hurting your feelings, or making you get mad at me."

He brought her hand up to his lips and kissed it softly. "You just have to tell me. I will trust that its not because you don't want to be with me."

"Okay," she agreed softly. She still felt vaguely sick to her stomach, because he _should_ be mad at her. She had said things to him that morning that were hurtful and had nothing to do with him. He shouldn't simply forgive her when she had done that. "Are we all right then?" T'nac asked hopefully.

"Yes, we're all right," Maiz told him, though she really wasn't sure. Shards he hoped this was over. "Then do you want to go get a a cup of klah and a cookie from the kitchens?
Or would you rather be alone for a while?"

"A cookie would be nice."

"Then come on." He stood up and intertwined his fingers with hers. "I think they're making the ones with redfruit jam on the top."

Maiz made a face. "Yuck! I don't like those ones. I guess just klah for me then."

T'nac grinned as he lead her towards the door. "Well, you can always get a sweetroll." "But cookies are so much better," Maiz replied. She was amazed at how easy it was to fall back into friendly, mindless chat. "Well, I'm sure they'll have more than one kind of cookie. I just noticed the redfruit jam because its my favorite. I can't believe you don't like them! How can you _not_ like redfruit jam?" asked with a disbelieving shake of his head.

"I _like_ redfruit jam, just not on my cookies.
Cookies should not have jam on them. Cookies and jam do not mix!"

T'nac laughed and wrapped his arm around her waist and leaned down to kiss the top of her head. "What am I going to do with you?"

Maiz remained silent, but she was thinking, **Good question.**
