Bluerider's fantasies

Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 13, day 4 of Turn 3

The bronzerider was waiting outside the Weyrlingmaster Thrid's office after drills had finished. "E'naer, do you have a minute?"

"Sure, get in," E'naer replied, although what he really wanted was a wash. He stink of firestone. U'kaiah ignored the smell as he followed the greenrider into his office. "It's about C'ber, blue Retawth's rider."

"And?" "Well, you know C'ber leans a bit more towards green than brown," the bronzerider began. "It seems the lad is having a bit of trouble becoming comfortable with the whole idea. Basically... He doesn't know what to do. Or rather _how_ to do..."

"Maybe I should have a little talk with him? Unless he would be more comfortable talking with another bluerider..." E'naer mused. "No, actually, he would like to talk to you..." U'kaiah decided it was best not to beat around the bush. "He seems to have developed a bit of a crush on you and he doesn't know what to do about it. And he is kind of hoping that you might be able to... teach him... a few things."

That gave the greenrider a bit of a start. "Oh, dear. Does he?" He really hadn't anything against it, except the weyrling was technically his underling. Someone having a crush on him certainly wasn't new to him. "Yeah," the bronzerider nodded. "After the problems he's had with accepting himself for liking other men, I think its a positive thing that he should develop a crush and be able to openly admit it."

"Yes, it is," E'naer agreed. "So, do you think you could help him?"

"I'll talk with him, but about teaching him...I don't know, maybe it has to wait until he's graduated.. on the other hand, he should know a little bit how it goes _before_ his dragon starts to chase green," E'naer said.
"Now, this is a whole new dilemma for me." "Listen, there are weyrlings that I slept with. They know better than to bring what happens in the bedroom into drills." Of course, that was only _half_ true. Kamira did seem to have that one incident... But she was drunk at the time.

"Did you sleep with your wingriders when you were a wingleader? Outside mating flights of course. You don't count mating flights," E'naer asked. "Yes, sometimes. Not all of them of course," U'kaiah shrugged. "Serveral of them were my lovers before I was a Wingleader, so there was no real reason to stop."

"That didn't cause any problems? Like accusations of favouritism? I'm in a ranking position for the first time of my life," E'naer asked. "Nah," U'kaiah said with a shake of his head. "I made it quite clear that just because I slept with them, all that was forgotten while I was on duty. I rarely had a problem, and when I did it was quickly resolved."

E'naer nodded thoughtfully. He hadn't made up his mind to what to do with the weyrling bluerider. Maybe he would just wait and see how the situation developed.
