K'mai

K'mai
I'serin

I'serin

They'd had Fall earlier in the day and K'mai had flown sweeps after. It was different, strange even, not to look to I'serin and Aluneth to lead them. Sebeth had accepted the change over the last month, mainly because he couldn't really remember anyone but Karcalanth leading them. But that first sevenday he'd been uncharacteristically bothered by Aluneth being replaced. The bronze was his friend, and Sebeth admired him, and he didn't like having a new Weyrleader.

K'mai would have been more upset if I'serin hadn't been so obviously relieved not to have that responsibility anymore. As stressful, and sometimes awful, as being Weyrleader had been for I'serin, it had also led to something beautiful and unexpected for both of them.

}:Mine would like to see yours. He says it is Important,:{ Sebeth told Aluneth. After a pause, he passed along K'mai's hastily added, }:But in a good way.:{

As I'serin, fresh from the baths, toweled his thick hair dry, he relayed back through Aluneth, **Our weyr or his?** He could not imagine what K'mai considered important but he was curious.

}:Ours,:{ Sebeth said. K'mai thought it was fitting. Poetic, the harpers would say. He looked around his weyr and wondered if he should have done something. Dinner? Glows? Flowers?

I'serin arrived a few minutes later. "K'mai?" he called lightly as he slid down from Aluneth's shoulder.

The bluerider waited until he was inside to greet him with a warm kiss. "Do you know what today is?"

"The fifth day of the first month," I'serin answered, not comprehending why that was a pertinent question.

K'mai laughed at him being so literal. "A Turn ago today, a handsome bronzerider came to my weyr drunk and kissed me." He caressed I'serin's cheek with his thumb. "And changed my life forever."

It took I'serin a moment to leap back mentally. When he did, a faint blush colored his cheeks while he huffed in rueful laughter. "That...was quite...unexpected." On so many levels. He tried to pick from his failing words something romantic but eventually settled for resting his forehead in the crook of K'mai's neck. He did, after a moment, say, "I do not regret that decision." Which was mostly honest. Did he wish that it had come about in some other, less painful and inebriated way? Yes. But the fact that something so wonderful bloomed out of something so awful was something he would not wish to change.

K'mai wrapped his arms around I'serin and nuzzled him. "I know the circumstances weren't ideal, but I'm so glad you came to me."

"I am as well," I'serin answered. He returned the nuzzle. After a pause, he asked, "Did you...have something in mind for our...anniversary?" It was an unfamiliar word to say but it felt...good.

The bluerider chuckled. "I didn't really plan anything." He kissed I'serin's cheek and then said against his ear, "But I thought maybe you could suck me this time."

Desire, instant and consuming, shot through I'serin's body. Drawing in a ragged breath, his hand threaded into K'mai's hair tightly so that he could press his mouth against K'mai's.

K'mai made a low, pleased sound and responded eagerly. Shards, he loved knowing how much I'serin wanted him. After a long, deep kiss, he shifted to press his lips against I'serin's neck. "You like that, don't you? Using your mouth on me."

The normally loquacious bronzerider made an incoherent noise that sounded like assent as he relished the feel of K'mai's mouth on his skin. He still had one hand in K'mai's hair but the other was now fumbling with the ties of the bluerider's pants.

K'mai chuckled, delighted and turned on. He reached down to help I'serin unfasten his pants and pushed his clothes off his hips. Hot anticipation flowed through him.

I'serin's fingers quickly found the hem of K'mai's shirt and removed it. His mouth went back to kissing the bluerider while he undid his own pants. "Bed," he softly, insistently growled. He was not going to kneel on this stone floor. Not this time.

A flicker of heat went though K'mai at that gentle command. "Yes, bronzerider." He headed for the sleeping area, progress slowed by the fact that he kept kissing I'serin. Finally he made it to the bed and laid back on the soft furs, tugging I'serin on top of him.

The bronzerider pressed a hungry kiss on K'mai's mouth before abandoning it to trail kisses, licks, and nibbles down the bluerider's body until he reached K'mai's hips. Then, the explorative nature of those kisses changed to enticing, teasing.

~*~fade to black~*~

K'mai kissed his way up the bronzerider's body. "Happy Anniversary." Saying those words sent a thrill through him, and he smiled as he pressed his lips to I'serin's.

I'serin met that kiss with eagerness. "Mine," he rumbled as lassitude began taking over. He nuzzled under K'mai's jaw. "Yours." And then he arranged his body against the bluerider so that they could cuddle. "Happy anniversary," he echoed, relishing the sound of those words.
